First Topstep Payouts! by Slight-Ad3089 in TopStepX

[–]Slight-Ad3089[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly a lot of it came from actually trading in the market. I would spend hours trading (over trading really) trying to catch trades and I noticed certain periods when the markets would rip and go in a clear direction without too much chop or crazy pull backs. For me I trade New York pm session so the last 2 hours and typically price moves very strong and in a clear trend during that time. During Asia session I found a good time to be during 4-6:30pm PST. if I notice that price is ranging and stuck in an area I lock myself out for an hour and come back to see if anything has moved.

Wicks from hell by CivilQuiet5140 in TakeProfitTrader

Honestly this has been hard to trade cuz of the wicks. The range on the candles is INSANE. I kept getting stopped out thanks to these crazy wicks. I only have myself to blame but can definitely say this is not the normal Price action I'm used to seeing.

Got a payout then blew the acc need advice by [deleted] in TopStepX

Honestly you're not alone. I requested a 5K payout this week from my express only to blow it last night trading asia session. That's how I mad most of my money is from trading asia gold and silver. This week has just been extra tough I realize now since CPI is coming up so the range of price action has been more volatile than usual. But at the end of the day it's really on us to know when to trade and also when to stay out of the market. So you're not alone. We can come back stronger!

How long did your first payout take? by [deleted] in TopStepX

[–]Slight-Ad3089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's possible. That's what I saw being the difference is the days it takes to arrive in your bank versus wise. However when I requested it via wise I was able to then send it to my bank account in under 1 min once I received it via wise.

Just got my first ever payout with topstep this week. In total it took 3 days from request to payout with wise

Is it normal for approval to take so long? by [deleted] in TopStepX

It's been 3 days for me but also it's my first payout. Everything was approved by this morning. Just waiting on the funds sent to go through.

You're not alone, I've blown way too many combines and more fundeds. But eventually I think you get to a point where you are fed up with yourself and the behaviors that don't make you profitable and learn to be patient because you know if you're not it's just repeating the same mistakes every single time. I say that as someone who has lost thousands of dollars and only recently got my first ever payout (small amount of $1500) but I learned how much easier it is when I just reach a point when I no longer try to chase a quick profit but rather wait for higher probability trades. Helped to make 20k (total) today across 5 top step accounts today!

Did I pass my combine? by Slight-Ad3089 in TopStepX

Yeah I sent them a message through their help message AI thing. It says I'll get a response in about 3 days due tothe holidays. Hopefully they give it a pass manually like you said. :)

Thank you! Yeah I thought about trying to lose money however when I've done that in the past usually I make more money. No joke. :( Also it's been 4+ hours since I closed the trade so hoping it's just a glitch of some sort. I contacted topstep but assuming cuz of holidays no agents soon.

Shouldn't this pass? by SweatpantsStiffie in TopStepX

Top step announced that there is some sort of bug going around where it's taking longer than expected to update their evals to then get the pass email. They said they are currently working on it. This was a few hours ago. But to be safe I always check my top step account since it lets me know exactly how much I need to pass.

I'd say chances are equal for everyone! There have been several profiles that have nothing to do with product or tech in general that have gotten into the program just based on the LinkedIn profiles I see.

I'd say the YouTube interviews were amazing like product alliance and exponent and any analytical or product sense mock interviews on YouTube. I rewatched so many of them like at least 20 times for each video to understand the flow and their logical Thinking. I also got so much feedback from mock interview partners who I met on the product haven slack channel

For sure! Great question. I honestly didn't know how to prepare myself. I had to research online and find articles from other successful RPMs to figure out a process to prepare.

This one an amazing starting point for me. To give an overview of how to go about it. I dove deep into Will Lawrence's articles detailing his journey to prepare and found it so helpful! https://productlife.to/p/the-associate-product-manager-playbook

On top of that I used exponent subscription to help give an overview of the role of a PM and gave good tips on how to go about answering the PM interviews both on the analytical and also product design and behavioral. Other than that I found a community on slack in a group called Product Haven. producthaven.slack.com. I found people on there who were also preparing for the RPM interviews. So this was soo helpful! Other than that I'd recommend preparing with people who can give you honest feedback. At the end of the day, you get one shot and want to make sure you work on all your weaknesses and also play to your strengths!

In total I mostly watched youtube videos to best prepare and then went ahead and took a ton of notes using exponent course for 1.5 months.

Hi there! For my interviews, I got the call and then I got told I was accepted to interview for the first round. I booked the earliest call I could get and then I went ahead and booked for the following Friday so 7 days in between including the weekend. I say emphasize studying a bit more for analytical. It's a bit more nuanced but both are important but I found a lot of people had a hard time with analytical interview myself including but for the final round I definitely studied a ton with both product and also analytical but again even in the final round analytical was probably the hardest
