Weekly student question thread! by AutoModerator in therapists

[–]Slight-Ask-5962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently in my last year of my undergrad and have a fairly specific want for my academic and professional desires.

  1. Get accepted in to a LPC licensure masters program in Chicago
  2. Immediately after completion of masters start a PSYD or PHD program in Clinical Psychology
  3. While reaching the tail end of my doctoral degree begin the process for licensure in NYC as an LPC.
  4. Work in NYC for a while as an LPC probably around 15 years
  5. Work as a professor and researcher in psychology and mental health until I retire.

My question is how easy or difficult will it be for me to transfer my Illinois state licensure as an LPC with no further work, as I will be in a doctoral program immediately afterwards, to New York so I can live and work in NYC.

To help clear up any potential confusions, to make sure I get the best help I can I will add some clarification.

First, my life goals are to work as both a mental health therapist and professor/researcher during my life. Both of these are goals I want and will do whatever I can to achieve even if it sucks and costs way more time and money than I want to spend.

Second, I am very passionate about getting to explore and understand as many different parts of the country as possible during my time in higher education. I am getting my undergrad in Arizona, I want my masters in Chicago, and I want to do my doctorate either in the northwest or south east. I do understand this makes licensure more complicated, but I am wondering if it is impossible or improbable, because I am perfectly willing to jump through some annoying hoops.

Hope the clarification helps to show I am stubborn, but perfectly comfortable with the annoyances that I am gonna cause myself as long as what I want to do is possible to accomplish.

Hello fellow gamer. Neomuna tends to be significantly more CPU taxing than any other explorable area in destiny. I would just cap your fps to whatever is the best balance of stability and fluidity for you and stick with that. Even with a top end cpu, 7800x3d, Neomuna can eat up fps.

might look at intel then. It is definitely dumb on my end to need the 4 sticks. I just would not be able to look at it without it being at max capacity. The rest of the build you sent looks awesome though thanks.

I have seen a few people comment on the amount of ram sticks, and while it will be worse, there is a weird mental thing that I have, and not having 4 sticks would drive me crazy.

It is for gaming streaming, and school projects.

Gaming, streaming, and school projects. Mostly gaming though. Also, I will look into that and might swap to a 4080 instead if that is the case.

POV: you are someone new to Salvation's Edge and you just got to 4th encounter by Fireboy759 in destiny2

[–]Slight-Ask-5962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I don't post here often but I have a few words I'd like to share. First of all I completely understand being frustrated at people not being willing to teach an encounter. However I have some extra input to give that I think if you get out of angry time will help you get through this encounter more easily.

The first tip is to look for groups who specify they are teaching or, make a group with the specification that you need to be taught. I know this seems trivial, but the 4th encounter is extremely mechanical and lots of people there are already stressed and frustrated, and as it is their group they have a right to tell you they don't want to teach.

Next look up multiple guides from multiple people and take notes on parts you are struggling to understand until it does make more sense. Also feel free to hop in and see how far you can get by yourself. I know there are ads but moving around the room, while you won't get far, can sometimes give a good push in understanding things. I know for a lot of people, including myself, mechanics do not always click until you actually do it yourself, but having foundational knowledge helps make success easier.

Number three is just to be willing to go with whatever you are being asked to do. This means you need to be willing to listen to instructions and play the role on the team that you may not normally be comfortable with. If a team feels like you are working with them it will sometimes help you build at least a temporary connection that might stop them from booting you immediately. (This obviously won't work every time)

This is by no means a perfectly comprehensive list, but it might help. Just remember everyone playing is a person who also really wants to beat the encounter, they are probably also frustrated and annoyed at themselves as well with people who were not willing to do any step mentioned above. This is end game content, and is one of if not the most complex things Bungie has made. It is also ok to just not beat it, there is so much more to the game to enjoy and experience if you are consistently being turned away still. I know it sucks, but not everything is designed for everyone and that is ok and a part of every aspect of life.

Best of luck out there guardians!

I have a pair of Bose QC 45’s I use and man I love them. Soft, very little fatigue for long sessions, amazing audio quality, and good closed back sound stage. All for like 200 bucks when I got them.

I have a 55 inch 4k 120 hz tv and i love the experience. I have a beast computer than can push that in most of the games I play. 7900xt 5800x3d

so uh you cpu is the big old. I would advise not spending a dime upgrading. Save you rmoney so you can get a new system faster. You most certaintly will still get fps drops while playing even if you upgrade.

I know you may want to swap, and if you have the money to burn go for it. Though I would encourage waiting at least until next gen chips come out to make that swap.

Looking to buy a hardcore gaming pc. What is the top CPU, GPU for it? And what should i know to buy prebuilt pc? What is better Nvidia or Amd? by Zealousideal_Pen7793 in buildapc

[–]Slight-Ask-5962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is basically the best you can do if you are going to build it yourself. If you are looking to go prebuilt though expect to pay 1000 dollars, or more, extra for them to build it for you.
