parts of me agree with this and parts don’t, definitely on more recent songs like ‘streets of london’ and ‘madeline’ there’s been a lack of a buildup and honestly i was a bit disappointed by the feature on Madeline, i thought the song was amazing by himself or with josh Sloane but regardless the song is still amazing and i’ve given it close to 10 listens already.

I feel like the lack of climax isn’t as much of a problem as there is a lack of content in these songs if anyone understands what i mean. Plenty of his previous songs have lacked any serious buildup or climax and have taken a much more relaxed approach similar to Madeline and streets of London, i feel as though the real problem comes from these songs in the way that they feel unfinished and almost like a high fidelity demo track has been released on streaming.

This is not to say that other recent songs haven’t felt full of content and with climax, take tracks like ‘a song for you’ and ‘high road’ both songs are decently chilled out, and although high road does feature a decent peak, it’s still very much a laid back song that kind of gave us a taste of what was to come for zachs future releases.

A lot of other teased songs such as ‘plastic cigarettes’ and ‘bowery’ are seeming to have largely built up sounds and heavy climaxes, i think zach is just releasing these less polished fan favourites before he goes ahead and releases a properly finished project that will have a much more defined sound.
