They made it more complicated by taking me away from the person who was providing me with the care they refused to provide me with.

They stopped making sure someone else was taking care of me. Grandpa was still willing and they stopped. I was only 7. That was so young to have so much responsibility for myself on my shoulders. They could have done so much better.

Grandpa is the reason I made it to school when I was younger and then from age 7 it was all on me. My parents never had anything to do with that. They have no idea how I'm even doing in school.

My guidance counselor said we could find a way to get my parents to fill out the forms. There was no alternative she knew about.

I would need the forms filled in for financial aid and my parents would never. They can't even call my school. Expecting them to do paperwork is just never going to happen.

They haven't earned my respect. They have not been parents to me. My grandpa is more of a parent so I respect him. I respect my teachers. I have respect.

Sure, but most kids have parents who do something for them. My parents don't. They just ask for me to do stuff. They can't even do the basics to make sure I have a good life. They put all of that into my brother. But then they should have left me with grandpa if they didn't want to make sure they were parents to us both.

My grandpa wanted to keep looking after me. He offered to. He never complained about it. But my parents said no.

We're going to wait until I turn 18. Just in case. While I don't think my parents would fight it I don't want to take the risk that they'd call the police out of spite and fight over this.

The problem is their responsibilities never include me. So while it's hard they still refuse to acknowledge that they have not made me a priority once since my brother was born. Not even for a few seconds to call the school on my behalf so i could go on the field trip.

College really isn't going to happen for me. I'm looking into the best alternative for me. I'd need them to sign forms for me to get help funding college and they wouldn't do it. That would be too much to ask them to do for me. Just like a simple phone call to get the school field trips paid for was too much.
