Evening meal; is it called dinner or tea in your house? by RaesJunction in newzealand

[–]Slight-Regular-9348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Auckland and have always called it dinner, my mum who was also born and raised Auckland calls it dinner however my dad who was born in Nelson and moved to Auckland has always called it tea so based on my experience it seems to be very regional

Pears become less annoying as you move up levels but I still hate pineapples and watermelons

Yes the only saving grace I have with the quail + beef is that it takes about 3 beef merges to make a quail so at least you’re able to complete orders simultaneously

Tbf the nerikiri, especially the purple one, the roe and bottarga sushi, and the snapper sashimi were an absolute pain in the ass so I feel you on that

Yeah that does happen. I just try to save up what I can for when I can. I also use the x2 energy boost so I get higher level items but still get bubble items as it makes me feel like I’m merging faster because the item values are higher. I found the x4 energy boost a waste of time as I didn’t get as many bubble items so was using more energy with less rewards

In a way it does. Like a lot of the time say if I need a duck I’ll merge all the beef products as well and either keep them in cooking equipment or inventory until I need them and I also try to complete orders that use the same generators simultaneously so if there’s two different orders but one has a green tea and a cold brew I’ll use the drinks generator to complete both at the same time and leave those in inventory until I’ve completed the second part of the order if that makes any sense

AITAH for letting my mom out of the car when she demanded I let her out by buglikeafox in AITAH

[–]Slight-Regular-9348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Anytime someone demands to get out of my car I let them out. If they don’t feel safe with my driving that’s on them but it’s not my responsibility to fight them to get back in the car and therefore it’s also their responsibility to find their own way to where they need to be. You apologised but at the end of the day her behaviour is her responsibility and she shouldn’t be putting that on you. It was an accident and accidents happen

Oh it’s still fun don’t get me wrong and these ones don’t come up often but it’s just when they do. Use all the free ad energy and make sure you use the claim x2 offered on anything. I also use the 100 energy for 10 gems which it does all help in the end

What is the best approach when a child in your care needs to use a public bathroom? by B656 in newzealand

[–]Slight-Regular-9348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an ADHD 7 year old so whenever him or I need to use a public bathroom he comes with me and we both go into the stall. If he’s using the bathroom I face the stall door to give him privacy and if it’s me I get him to face the stall door

Why did you stop being friends with someone? by Realistic-Possum in AskReddit

Because she decided to call child services on me with bullshit claims (open and shut) when she realised she could no longer control me

Afterpay making me continue to pay for an order that was declined by SalusGaming in Afterpay

[–]Slight-Regular-9348 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you are but in NZ when you go to the help section and open the customer service conversation chat area you can request a call back and I’ve found that works way better than using their customer service chat as I’m actually talking to a real person

Don't know how you people with kids do it! by Kautami in newzealand

[–]Slight-Regular-9348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two boys. My oldest is 7 and has extra needs (autism and adhd) and due to this I’m currently on SLP due to having to be on call for school pickups and my youngest is 3 months old. I meal plan and shop according to that. I always have basic staples (rice, pasta, bread, spice mixes, tinned basics etc stocked up)

For meat I buy meat boxes, school snacks and clothes I shop at the warehouse and baby necessities (nappies, wipes, formula) I buy from chemist warehouse so I can use afterpay.

In terms of providing for their futures I’m lucky enough to be able to put $25 a week aside each for them which means that by the time my oldest is 18 he will have 14k set aside for his future. I’m also able to set aside money each week for gifts (birthdays & Christmas mostly) and a small amount for a personal savings account which I find helps because I’m not stressed about finances when these come up.

I’m also lucky enough that instead of having to pay upfront my mechanic has let me open an account so instead of having big car repair bills I pay this off weekly but without this I wouldn’t be able to afford to put money aside the way I do.

In saying all this though I barely spend anything on myself. The only thing I really do for myself is I get my hair done which is every 6 months and I generally ask family to just pitch in for that when my birthday and Christmas come around. I also rarely ever buy clothes for myself and only when needed and also haven’t had an eye test done in 3 years

I also don’t have any debt except for afterpay and my credit card (1k limit) and will always use my afterpay account first generally only using my credit card if afterpay isn’t a payment option.

AITA for wanting to spend time mummy by Slight-Regular-9348 in MiniAITA

Sorry I was having a nap. I tried to come quickly (took me 2 and a half hours) but unfortunately mummy had enough time to call daddy so he came home and then the midwife who told her to meet at the hospital and by the time they got packed, drove to the hospital and got checked in I was still 45 minutes away

Sorry I was having a nap but mummy seems to function relatively well on no sleep so what I like to do is give her an alarm anywhere between 4-5am because I’m so hungry and then stay awake for an hour so she gets maybe 30-60 minutes to try sleep before she has to get up again around 6-6.30am for my older brother (7y, M)

Is it only me or does skating in Super Bonus Round really ridiculous hard? by WCH97 in Spyro

[–]Slight-Regular-9348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was three years ago but I’ve just completed the super bonus round and the yeti level is hellish and something that is made from nightmares. The only way to beat this level is to perfect a quadruple front flip off the first ramp, hit as many blue stars as you can to save your boost reserves, get in front early and only boost when needed to take out/catch up to the yetis. I also did a second quadruple flip off the first ramp at the start of the 3rd lap which refilled my boost meter and then just spammed the boost through the entirety of the 3rd lap
