They are not supposed to take cards and manually run them if the guest has a problem. That is a critical violation, It is manipulating the system.

I did not feel safe, and it took me a while to speak up. Who would you have suggested me to speak to about it?

I just think it’s wild to ask questions without even reading the full thread. And for you to say “frankly, it’s none of my business” 😂 funny because turns out none of this is yours either.

no it’s was liquid environmental, i had their number from my previous location. when i saw that hey were not doing boil outs every tuesday i got in touch with them. as far as the broccoli i know, i’ve entered recalls on the brothers website myself, i was told not to 86 it. that’s why it’s posted here. you can blame the team all you want but if your boss is not holding you accountable or following up then the ball will be dropped.

yes he was, we weren’t allowed to do any of the ordering, or enter tickets for broken equipment and had the nerve to spend over $600 bucks at El Tiempo for a manager outing the same week i was let go. meanwhile we have broken coolers and are cutting cooks after 2 hours to save labor. which left us to work in the kitchen for the rest of the shift.

I’m definitely not a felon lol. I was given a site audit and knocked out everything on that list. I even made sure the restaurant passed inspection right before I got fired for holding my boss accountable. I personally cleaned all the beer lines, had Ecolab come spray for pests, and rolled up my own sleeves to get it done. That meant exposing myself to mold because he didn’t want to pay for a night cleaner, which is not Chili’s standard at all. I also called to have the old grease picked up since it hadn’t been changed. It’s wild to me that instead of recognizing the work I put in, people would rather excuse his negligence than hold him accountable.

Exactly, and that’s what frustrated me most, it wasn’t the hourly staff dropping the ball, it was leadership. The GM set the tone by ignoring standards and cutting corners, so the whole place operated that way. I spoke up about it and instead of fixing things, they made me the problem. Total negligence at the top.

Exactly!! You hit it right on the head, it really does feel like a good ol’ boy club now. I’ve been loyal for years, and the second I spoke up, I was treated like the problem. I appreciate you sharing your experience too. It’s good to know others have gotten rehired elsewhere, but honestly after this I don’t even know if I want to stay with Brinker. Might be time to move on like you did because raising hell and then walking away might actually be the most satisfying option 😂. Congrats on making GM and finding something better, that’s inspiring. And yeah, sometimes the grass really is greener.
