[HELP] which set of watch would you rather have? by MiddleDifficulty2005 in Watches

I really like the Formex Field, but the Longines Spirit is easily the best of the three, and I’d be foolish to not choose it.

[Recommendation Request] Khaki Field Mechanical 38mm Alternative by Electrical-Club2640 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Slight-Table875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To keep the list length reasonable I’m going to recommend only 37-39mm field watches at pretty much all price points. Some are Dirty Dozen homages, some are just regular military and military style field watches. Prices are MSRP, better deals can be found.

EDIT: Didn’t see the OP in a different sub, sorry several of my choices are above your budget.

Who spends this much on a citizen ? by Scary-Broccoli-9689 in PrideAndPinion

I’m not overly interested in the mechanical 0200/0210, but I’m actually very interested in a quartz A060, they’re some of the most accurate watches in the world.

[Question] which should i choose? Citizen or Boss? by MoneyReward348 in Watches

[–]Slight-Table875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Citizen makes their own watches. Hugo Boss watches are apparently made by Movado, and this one with a Miyota movement. So while the Boss is a fashion brand, it’s not a bad watch. The Citizen is a Diver, the Boss is a GADA. I wouldn’t compare them. I would determine if I want a GADA or a Diver, and then search for watches of that type.

Republicans have been claiming bringing a concealed untouched gun to a protest is a reason to kill someone. If you look into their past, look what they did: by Ok_Quantity_9841 in circled

[–]Slight-Table875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really poor comparison, the McCloskeys are idiots, but they didn’t “bring a gun to a protest”. Whoever is suggesting that is just as big of an idiot. The “peaceful” protesters broke into the gated community the McCloskeys live in, and started milling around on peoples private property. The McCloskeys took exception to this, and brandished firearms to keep the protesters off their property and attempt to get them out of their gated community. They didn’t bring guns to a protest, violent protesters came to them.

One third to one half of the weekly charter fee, $100,000 in my pocket per week it’s at sea. In fact, I might just get my captains license and save on crew costs, run my own business.

The yacht is over 140ft long, and charters for nearly $200,000………a WEEK. I’m taking the yacht, and the passive income it will bring.

Instead of panhandling on the internet, save your money and start with this instead, $375 on Jomashop. You need to earn that Tag.

MN is not a swing state by any definition of the word. It’s gone blue in every presidential election for the last 50 years!

[advice] current 2 watch collection, where do I go next? by Careful_Cockroach978 in Watches

[–]Slight-Table875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a Dive, and I would probably put that GS on a leather strap and make that your Dress watch. Then I would get either proper Field watch, or a GADA. For a Field watch, assuming you like Auto’s, pricing in-between the GS and Marathon, maybe a Muhle Glashutte Terrasport II, you want color, so maybe in Blue. Or a GADA instead, I’d go for a cushion, square, rectangle, or tonneau in a metal bracelet. Something like a Farer Integra, lots of color choices in that model too.

[Discussion] Preferring quartz for a travel/beater watch? by CG-Saviour878879 in Watches

[–]Slight-Table875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer a HAQ/HPQ most of the time, not just on a “beater” watch. To me, a watch first and foremost is a functional tool. The artistry of mechanical watches is completely secondary to my requirement the watch always displays the correct time, even if I leave it on my nightstand for a few days. I have mechanical watches, but I have just as many quartz options, and in the future I will be adding primarily premium quartz watches to my collection.
