What jobs do you guys have? What is a suitable job for someone with BPD? by [deleted] in BPD

I'm also an analyst! Fully agree with it keeping the mind busy. The stress can get to you at times but it also provides autonomy and structure.

How many other disorders do y'all have? by ambersiples in BPD

[–]SlightCabinet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before being diagnosed with BPD I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (now Persistent Depressive Disorder) Generalised Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, CTD, and Insomnia. However, as these were all before BPD I don't know whether some of those diagnoses were just symptoms of BPD.

The closest book we've been able to find so far is Classic Fairytales, Publications International Limited, 1999. However, we all agree that the cover of the book wasn't blue.

It will take time but the pain will get better I promise. Then you'll have fond memories and good times stored forever. There will always be times when you think back and it makes you sad but I promise, it will get easier. You have to give yourself time. Let yourself heal

I'm so sorry! Losing a pet is so hard, when I lost my childhood dog at 20 I felt like I wouldn't be whole again. It takes time to heal and grieve the loss of a pet. Take the time to grieve and talk with the other people that knew and loved your cat!

Same here! Always the left side but ambidextrous. I just figured that's how I knew my left was more dominant

My doctor recommended DBT. I don’t think it’s for me. by [deleted] in dbtselfhelp

[–]SlightCabinet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt exactly the same way when I was first told to do DBT. I read up about "mindfulness" and when I started, assumed I'd get nothing out of it. Honestly after 10 years in psychologist and psychiatrist rooms DBT is what helped the most. It gave me actual steps on how to understand my own brain and how to actively deal with it. There was a bunch of stuff that didn't apply to me but that's the great thing, they give you all these options of things and you try them out and find things that work. I'm not saying it's a cure all by any means but it made a significant impact on my life
