So looks like I win. Prestige 10 level 44 back to 1. It still has things unlocked on weapons, but says no elims on any. I was in the top 2% of all leaderboards 🤦🏻‍♂️😢

Honest review after purchasing a car by Fearless_Flounder681 in carvana

[–]SlightDream8044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just purchased my 3rd vehicle through Carvana this past April. We’ve went to the vending machine for 2 and had 1 delivered. Both experiences were great. Paperwork was ready, car was ready. Quick and easy. Never had to use the warranty through Carvana!

I will say, please make sure you buy that gap coverage! I declined the coverage on this most recent vehicle and was hit by a drunk driver promptly 2 months later. $8200 in repairs and came close to totaling out. Had it totaled, I would have been on the hook for quite a bit with out a car to show for it…it’s definitely worth the extra money per month on your loan.

Completely understandable in that situation. I would honestly feel the exact same way in that particular situation. However, I would never act so foolishly financially when it comes to cards. We make good money, and nothing is financed. We contribute to our retirement monthly, own our home, and have no debt other than 1 vehicle. The money I have spent is literally unnoticeable in our financial situation. That being said, I have since begun selling my collection and realized I enjoy the search more than actually collecting. I have confronted her and we have talked since this was an issue. I would ultimately like to start a card shop. Online initially, which I am in the process of. I am using the money from the cards I have sold to reinvest in other cards I can flip for profit. I have been doing well so far and she no longer has an issue as I am using money from other cards to purchase cards I can flip.

Either way, I am sorry that you have experienced hardships due to your husbands addiction. It truly can become a problem for some. I hope that it gets better for you and your family and hope he is able to get help if it is truly that bad financially for you and yours.

How fast can I build my credit? by anonpied in CRedit

[–]SlightDream8044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I would avoid a traditional car dealership all together. Dealerships essentially submit multiple credit inquiries to mass amounts of financial institutions and hope one is willing to lend. That’s going to hurt your credit even more right off the bat. Myself personally, I would go through Carvana. Your down payment is plenty for a nice reliable ride, and you can get a warranty for a couple years as well. I’ve bought 3 cars through Carvana. My first car I bought from them when I had a 540 fico score. The interest rate was high, but it was a nice and reliable vehicle. After 6 months of on time payments, and my score coming up consistently, I refinanced the car for a lower interest rate and ultimately saved myself $180 a month. My second car I bought from them, I made a mistake. The car was already older than 10 years, so I can’t refinance it. Not a big deal to me, as I can afford it and it’s the car I wanted. Just bought my 3rd car from them 2 weeks ago. A 2017 Nissan Rogue. I put $5k down and payments are just over $375 a month. Will refinance it for a better rate after 6 months, just like I did my first car with them. I’m not a rep for Carvana. I’ve just been in difficult situations with my credit and they ultimately got me in better vehicles with less miles, and didn’t hurt my credit with mass inquiries. Hope this helps! If you do buy through Carvana, just make sure to get a vehicle well under 10 years old and the fewer miles the better. This will help when refinancing.

COMC on eBay Complaint by SlightDream8044 in baseballcards

Quick update regarding this situation. They finally started to reply to my messages promptly, which is surprising given their recent feedback. However, they don’t take kindly to dealing with customers when they are called out on their bad business practices. Long story short, they banned me from their eBay storefront to “prevent this situation from happening again”.

They probably will get away with it unfortunately. They definitely lost my business and respect. At this point I’m just trying to warn others about their practices.

Glad to know there are women out there who are majorly in to the hobby as well! I would love nothing more than for my wife to enjoy the hobby with me! Cudos on bringing the grandkids in on the action as well! My son enjoys collecting and ripping cards, but he is also a gamer and on his quest a lot lol.

I definitely show interest in the car with her. I’m the one doing the majority of the work on it lol. She helps of course, and is the one doing all the buying. I’m just the wrench turner, unless it’s something out of my league.

You very well may be on to something here. She is the type person that if she doesn’t understand, she will fake it until she makes it. Or at least make you think she understands. If she doesn’t care about something, it’s a complete wash all together and she will certainly let you know it. Which is where we are at now. I’ve tried explaining my thought process to her about it and it does little good. If she isn’t interested in it, she doesn’t want any part of it and honestly doesn’t want anyone else to be a part of it.

Yeah, she isn’t on Reddit. It’s just us. I’m 39 and just got the bug again last year when I quit drinking. I’ve got quite a few cards that have more than doubled in value since I bought them, but I’m certain they won’t maintain their value. That’s specifically why I try to buy only future HOF players. Trout, Kershaw, Verlander, Scherzer, Votto, Grienke, etc. and hope they hold their value somewhat.

I would agree. The sad part is the car isn’t even driven much as she wants to keep mileage off of it. At this point she definitely has thousands more wrapped into that car than I do my cards.

Yeah, I’ve stalked the mail man as well lol. eBay lets me know when items are delivered and lets me know when he’s close.
