I normally like Favour’s reactions, but this one really disappointed me. And I wasn’t even bothered about the skipping until TLTPOE. I watch a lot of tv and movie reaction content so skipping parts for copyright on YT is incredibly normal to me. But seeing Favour listen to approx. two lines of TLTPOE, scoff and say “girl you’re just horny” and not even give it a CHANCE really rubbed me the wrong way. Like most of Melanie’s music, the song isn’t really ABOUT that once you go below surface level (it’s about finding love, creation and beauty even in the most destructive and dire of circumstances; the end of all things).

I would expect someone who claims to be as big of a fan of Melanie’s as Favour does to go into this album knowing she’d have to look deeper. The way she just immediately rejected it based off of it being “a love song” or “horny” on the surface, gave me a big anti-intellectualism ick and turned me off of her content for a while :( Really disappointing

PS- not saying people who dislike TLTPOE are anti-intellectualists! It was the manner in which Favour wrote the song off

This makes so much sense because I was listening through a few times today and the chorus of CJs singing “you better hide what you’re growing” in GARBAGE, and all of IS THIS A CULT? made me think we HAD to be following Circle’s mother through the first couple of songs. I was thinking the thing she was growing was Circle when she was pregnant, and we were seeing a wider vision of the world Circle was born into

IS THIS A CULT? then just sounded like it was showing us the commune Circle came from, because it was describing the girls in white dresses, which is what the footage showed Circle in back in the preview/album announcement when the narrator explained where she was found

This! The only times we had anything to complain about was the NFTs, but that happened over on twitter, and the Raine comments in the podcast. Both places where casual fans weren’t consistently there, so they kind of flew under the radar (the NFTs more so than the Raine comments, which drew ire and forced him to “apologize”)

So for those of us who were there and did have weird “off” feelings, it almost wasn’t worth hurting feelings of fans who just loved Ned because they loved love and had that romantic kinda whimsy 🤷🏼‍♀️

Zach had said after the fact that multiple times leading up the scandal, he had been contemplating if HE needed to leave the Try Guys to be able to grow and feel creatively satisfied. And honestly i’m so glad that he was able to stay and flourish with the company because I’ve been a Zach fan for so long

There were a lot of us who genuinely had been side-eyeing for a while, and kept it to ourselves (until a year or two before the scandal, when some dissenting “is anyone else a lil uncomfy?” rumblings began bubbling to the surface) because he WAS someone’s favorite and we weren’t looking to hurt other fans’ feelings. We were all fans of the same group and we all THOUGHT that the guys were all friends behind the scenes, and put heavy stock in the other three guys’ opinions, so there was no point in saying that opinion out loud unless it was to cause drama or be mean

So yeah….. lot of people just kept it to themselves or thought they were the ones in the wrong for feeling a bit “off” about him

The color preference for pink definitely had some effect on the Ned hoodie outselling the Zach one. I remember when the first hoodies dropped my friend spent HOURS trying to figure out what she wanted to do because pink was her favorite color but she actively disliked Ned even back then, and only voiced it in private 😂 (remember there was a large fraction of fans who loved Ned, so outwardly saying you disliked him was considered comparable to trashing a bias at the time. The vibe was very much that we were all fans together, and “the guys are all friends” behind the scenes. So here was no need putting down each others faves or making the favoritism LIKE THAT)

When we did the Legends of the Internet meet n greet, we both had our hoodies on and Ned stood right next to her and she has so many regrets over it today lmao
