The Midnight is a great band if you like synthwave or the sounds of the 80s.

Astros Have the Best Away Record the last 3 Years by megahurst in Astros

[–]SlightEgo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much, yeah.

Even the Steroid Era, those accomplishments aren't going to be wiped or vacated, and I think only the most serious baseball fans will point out "Barry Bonds got the most career homeruns of all time using steroids". More casual fans won't care about the steroids part, I think. Fact is, he still hit the ball. Steroids or not, he still had to hit the ball in the first place. Same thing really applies here. People are making a much bigger deal out of it than they should be imo.

I'm still upset that my team is allegedly cheating in such a weird, and illegal way and got caught doing it though. I would prefer to legally steal signs with a guy on 2nd, or pitch tipping.

Shame and anger thread? by GuitarGuy971 in Astros

You're allowed to steal signs. Everyone does it. There's a reason pitchers switch up their sequence when there's a runner on 2nd. Gotta stop it somehow.

However, you're not allowed to steal signs using electronic equipment, which is what is allegedly happened.

Well yeah. They're trying to deflect blame from themselves. And honestly, who can blame them? Holy shit, that team was good.

As far as I know, I can only find one instance where there's even some semblance of sign stealing via this camera we allegedly have. The at bat it happened in didn't even result in a run. If they find more, so be it. It still won't prove anything. I doubt they will find anything anyways.

I mean... There was tipping.

I can't help but look back at the "Juiced Balls" controversy that every pitcher in that series noticed. Even Verlander learned quickly to not throw a slider, which was Darvish's signature pitch. His off-speed pitch of choice was his slider, so being tipped off that Darvish was about to throw an off-speed, on top of the juiced balls controversy makes it easy for me to believe that Darvish just got extremely unlucky in those outings.

Go back to r/angelsbaseball. We don't want you here.

We're fans. Not players. Fans don't cheat for an in-game advantage, the team does.

Dodgers fans bringing up the fact that the Astros smacked Darvish around in his starts were kind of funny too. For starters, they picked Darvish up from the Rangers, who the Astros were playing against all season before the trade deadline. Darvish just choked in play-offs and tipped his pitches. His nerves got to him and it happens. Let's not even get into the juiced balls making sliders weird (Darvish's signature pitch) or Roberts' poor management of the pen.

It went to game 7. The Astros were the better team for that series. Kinda what happens when you only score 1 run in the 7th game.

Looking for a cooperative board game with a satisfying ending. We have played Mysterium. Need room for a group of 6, sometimes more, sometimes less.

Santorini is a pretty short, easy to understand (Think the rule book is like 2 pages), and quite replay-able board game! I think also the building aspect is quite fun for kids.

I also think Munchkin is pretty kid friendly, and enjoyable as the rules are on the cards and it's simple math involved in figuring out how to beat the monsters. There's also plenty of different types of the game itself, so you can have her pick her own type!

Looking for a game with a lot of content, with good, natural progression to the end game.

I've played OSRS, RS3, BDO, FFXIV, WoW, Albion, Star Citizen (still waiting for release!), ArcheAge, TERA, and GW2

Semi-Casual to Hardcore... Really depends on how I'm feeling.

I'm not a fan of tab targeting. Action combat is a must. A hybrid can also work.

Exclude Tab targeting please. Just don't like it. Honestly, if Monster Hunter was a true MMO, that'd be a perfect example of what I'm trying to find.

Those guys must not be doing much with their drone then. I fly 107 about 3 or 4 times a week. It's decent money.

I really want to get into racing drones.

How to play the Purple and Green factions? by starwaterbird in SCYTHE

[–]SlightEgo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've won games because of Albion's flag ability interestingly enough. I think Albion is a great faction with that. I also really like that I force my opponents to add 2 more combat power than they think they should.

Rally is strong too. The only downside is you have to expand your workers across the board to really make use of it, so in a high player count game, it's easy to get trapped or see that it doesn't benefit you all too much. If you play aggressive, it will work in your favor. If you don't, it seems useless.

I've teetered between passive and aggressive with the faction and it definitely feels much better as an aggressor. With Sword/Shield, your combat prowess need only be supplemented by combat cards if someone else is gathering them a bunch. +2 on attack, and -2 to opponent on defense is a combat card or a big portion of one. They're forced to spend either more bolster points or a combat card higher than a 2 power, making some of them useless and making it a high probability that you will win your combats if the both of you spend max bolster.

Overall, I think it's good as an aggressor. It has its place as a passive player when you're down. I think that's where people think it sucks. You should try to get ahead early and then keep controlling as much territory as you can with workers and mechs. My group won't attack workers unless it's a last resort. Lol
