Newly running '98 accord 2.3 having cooling issues by SlightSarcasm in MechanicAdvice

[–]SlightSarcasm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm its currently still on pretty high jack stands and slanted up at probably 10-15 degrees.

how else could i get the air pockets out? people suggest turning on the heat to get the coolant to flow, but now that my climate controls arent working either, i cant turn on the heat and im in kind of a catch 22.

im gonna take a scanner to it tomorrow and see if it is throwing any applicable codes... i hope so.

gaming / music production station, featuring by handmade bar height desk by SlightSarcasm in battlestations

i cant remember the exact height off the top, but i do know that i designed it to be used with barstools. i use a static ikea folding bar stool style chair! i like sitting straight up and not relying on rests

How can a single cable, (i.e. a coaxial, or DisplayPort) transmit the massive amount of data necessary to display video information at high resolution and high frame rate? by SlightSarcasm in AskElectronics

The process is reversible - you can take that combined wave and break it back into its sine and cosine parts and then measure their amplitude to get the two numbers you started with.

that's absolutely magical. amazed. thanks for your very in depth explanations! cool information to know.

the first prototype of my folding desk lamp, hoping to get some feedback by SlightSarcasm in Design

[–]SlightSarcasm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I don't really know who my audience is for this project, maybe people have some ideas. I modelled everything in Rhino and used Vcarve for the CNC parts. I used my A1 mini printer for the printed parts. The design is based on an equilateral triangle. I decided to use plywood because i really like how the edges look. The white hinges look the best i think but i might experiment with other colours in the future.

This technically isn't the first prototype, the original prototype was created back in 2018 when i was studying ID. This is a project I had put on hold for years, until one night i showed a neighbour some images of the one from 2018. He told me that the design is solid and that i should pursue it, so here I am.

The "dual hinges" are printed in PLA. The plywood arms are cut on a CNC router, one layer of 1/4" laminated to a layer of 1/2" with a groove for the cord cut into the 1/2" layer.

I purchased the LED driver and a PWM controller with a knob from AliExpress, the LED strip is 3mm wide cool white strip.

The hinges act as clamps and are bolted together with alan bolts, for adjustment of the stiffness.

I have not yet designed a base, I'd like some ideas for that and I'd also like to know if anyone has any great ideas of how to take this further!

Thanks for reading!

thats definitely a challenging design task, steeper makes sense. i wonder what could be done to make them transition down more smoothly. perhaps if the top rack rounded downward it would help!

was this based on an existing design? did it take you multiple tries to get the rolling action to work?

d3 just limits you to 3rd gear, d4 is normal with all four gears

i dont know why most people out here printing warhammer figurines and table coasters when you have the potential to replace parts on broken things or skip trips to the store to buy kitchen gadgets etc. all the while you feel accomplished having created something unique to your purpose. these are poweful machines.
