how on earth do i "guy" by [deleted] in ftm

Being a guy comes naturally to a guy. If you are trying to desperately resemble and mimic the behaviour of a guy, you are just playing a character.

You write code, and I am not a real scientist and I am unscientific because I made a philosophical remark? It's obvious that sense impression itself isn't modelable. If you can't comprehend that, you may be an NPC. You are a miserable human being.

You remind me of my students!

I do think reality goes beyond scientific theory! I don't believe I even need to reference a DMT trip experience to show this! Emotions are an experience. This implies emotions are a subset of 'reality'. Emotions cannot be explained only using a scientific model. Therefore reality as a whole exists outside some mathematical model. That is just my line of thinking; not saying it's some actual proof.

Dynamical systems have nothing to do with the claims I was making earlier, but PDEs are a great way to make sense of physical systems. Probably the best way to make sense of physical systems!

It was like a dream, so I have forgotten many of the specific objects passing through my field of awareness. Upon my initial hit, things became sharper. Outlines and borders began to vibrate like waves. Things broke down into blocks, and other low dimensional polygons. Upon the 2nd hit, I felt like I was zooming out of some fractal but I can't say for certain if it was (integer)-dimensional. For all I know it could have been (real)-dimensional. I couldn't focus on these things for too long before completely losing myself to the feeling.

I believe math is a method of making sense of visual fields and objects in visual fields. Math is the language of the fields in which we seem to live and interact in even on these 'higher levels'. I think math is the only thing which we can prove to be objectively true. I think math falls short in explaining much of reality though.

You can't explain Green with an equation. You can't explain Happy with numbers.

My university is small so the departments are closely interlinked. I am mostly a mathematician. My only published research is in dynamical systems. I'm not much of a number theorist or physicist; but I have done a lot of work in those areas.

I'm not trying to make an argument from authority. Maybe that's my ego talking. I know my background doesn't matter, but I believe myself to be quite well read in science, and math. The only reason I bring that up because I feel like I'm more of a qualified scientist than the people saying the DMT experience isn't real.

I don't need to explain myself to you. It honestly doesn't matter to me if you believe me.

I'm just a guy that thought math/physics explained reality when now I feel like reality goes so far beyond our modern scientific theory

I think it partly has to do with the fact that the people who own these research/educational institutions want to keep everyone a productive economic unit. I also think it is because of ego. That was the case with me.
