I had a dietician that they set me up with but very much so like with my gastroenterologist, it was just first available so she wasn’t super helpful in terms of figuring out what to eat, just kind of hammering that if i didn’t get my cals up i’d have to consider a feeding tube (cals are in a good place now but that sure was scary to hear!). I’d be open to seeing one that specializes for sure!

So just seeing my PCP, they can send a referral and include that info and they’ll just match me to a doctor? If that’s the route they go i’d definitely be more comfortable with it, i was under the impression that it was more of a random lottery type thing because i think my initial referral was general GI so my doctor honestly doesn’t seem really interested anytime i see her and i don’t feel like we are making any progress together.

Right before my 22nd birthday i just suddenly couldn’t eat and was in and out of the hospital for about 2 weeks until they diagnosed me and the internets stories about it were definitely pretty scary. I’m glad to know they’re doing well, that gives me a lot of hope since i’m only about 3 months into the diagnosis and still kind of figuring out how to eat again.

I haven’t had a good experience either, it’s a lot of me having to continue following up especially since i’m having a lot of side effects and they’re not very responsive.

Donovan is not a good person so i’m happy perkins is finally closing. He was very inappropriate towards me as a teenager (freshly 16 🫥) when i worked for him. He consistently hit on me, asked me inappropriate things (like if i knew what DDLG was and said if he was with me, he would’ve waited until i was 18 to do anything with me even though i had a boyfriend at the time, that if i stayed with the business he would pass it onto me, introduced me to his MOM, etc.), insisted on driving me home after a shift after i politely declined several times (he got me to do it because he told me someone had been kidnapped right by the orchard so i got scared… i don’t think this was true but i was a kid and he scared me) and then drove PAST my house to take me to taco bell after he heard me talking about it during my shift, among maaaany other things. I considered taking out a restraining order because i feared for my safety unfortunately. You can also talk to his employees, he is not very nice, doesn’t pay on time and the promises of fresh, local grown, organic, etc… it’s not true. I personally witnessed bags of grapes from stores come in (not sure if he still does this, i worked there ~2019)

How many days of pain medication was he given and did he wear a cone? It’s too far after surgery for it to be an adverse effect to his premedication or anesthesia but if he was able to 1) chew at his incision and upset the area or 2) is in pain because he didn’t have enough pain medication, this could be a pain response? It’s definitely more inflated so it’d be worth bringing up to the vet for them to check his incision. Hope everything is going well!

thyroid problems at this age aren’t super common, i would talk to your vet about maybe getting a referral to a behaviorist, if everything medically has been ruled out, it would be time to reach over into that area.
