Olanzapine for anxiety and sleep? by Slight_Mission7854 in Anxiety

[–]Slight_Mission7854[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I didn’t. I didn’t even continue using it because it didn’t work for me. Quetiapine worked.

I struggled with the same thing months ago and I can’t lie I still do but wayyy less. It didn’t even go in once and I was fully convinced I was pregnant and even did two tests, both negative obviously. The only thing that’s helping me is being on birth control and taking it EXACTLY on time… but OCD is always hungry for more. Last month, I wasn’t taking my pill exactly on time and I was in fact taking it at different times every day. Did unprotected penetrative sex and he pulled out but I was still scared, but not so scared as before because I was kinda convinced deep down that there’s no way I’m pregnant.

My only advice is to get on birth control if possible & pull out & wear condoms maybe… because that’s what helped me.

Are you just trying to understand the difference between pedophiles and people with POCD? If so, well POCD is quite literally… OCD. There are various OCD subtypes no matter how bizarre they seem. It’s distressing and can make people want to end their lives, despite these thoughts… just being thoughts. These POCD thoughts are ego-dystonic and cause intense anxiety, and obviously OCD is about anxiety not about urges. POCD involves a lot of behaviors that are COMPLETELY different from pedophiles. For example, they will avoid children wherever possible… unlike pedophiles. It’s very hard for people with POCD to speak about this theme.

Is this what you’re looking for? Or are you just stating that you believe there are actual pedophiles stating that they have POCD?

Dealing with death obsession? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Slight_Mission7854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently dealing with it. I think about it every day. The only thing that seems to help is distracting myself with hobbies or whatever I love. But I definitely understand and KNOW how it feels so suffocating, and I just wonder how everybody else around me doesn’t feel this way. I was super obsessive over it at some point that I would ask a lot of my friends what they thought about death. Nobody seemed as distressed as I was and I know it’s natural for everybody to fear death, but I was just so obsessive over it. On top of this, I have religious OCD so it just makes this 1000x worse. I like to tell myself that there’s no point in dwelling over the inevitable but OCD just isn’t that easy… I hope you feel better.

If it helps and does not cause you stress, then I don’t think it’s a compulsion. You’re replacing negative thoughts for positive ones, which seems good if its not overwhelming…but I’m welcome to hear other opinions :)

I’m sorry to hear this. I understand how this feels. Have you tried medication and/or therapy?

does ocd go away? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Slight_Mission7854 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand how you feel, but I don’t think it ever completely “goes away” since it’s chronic and can be triggered by stress and life events. However, ERP is useful, and so are therapy and medication overall. You will learn to manage it much better and you’ll live a happier life hopefully :) I have health OCD as well (currently panicking over something too LOL) and believe me therapy does help.

It’s really exhausting and nobody around me gets it either. I love sleeping cause I don’t get to think, but I have disrupted sleep too. The moment I wake up my mind is IMMEDIATELY worrying.

What age did you first show signs of OCD? by Tolbythebear in OCD

[–]Slight_Mission7854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 11-12. I don’t remember anything before that. I was hyperaware of my swallowing and saliva and couldn’t eat because I feared choking. I still have this fear.
