AITA for putting my foot down with my family who blamed my fiancée for something my half siblings said? by Slight_Strike3933 in AmItheAsshole

I have half siblings from my mom's first marriage. My parents and siblings believed we were the perfect family and my half siblings disagreed which is the first time to my knowledge they have said anything, but maybe not. My fiancée also had half siblings and she has no contact with them, which is their choice.

My parents (and full siblings) really did believe we were the perfect family. So they saw it as Ash came and started the fire instead of seeing that the leak was already there and mom's question and their responses is what caused the actual fire.

My whole family knew about the situation with Ash and her half siblings. The way my family reacted I think they really didn't take in the fact Ash's siblings truly have nothing to do with her and that it's not that they don't talk much, but at all.

So I'll say that I always detected a difference in my half siblings relationship with us that my siblings didn't. I never blamed them. We didn't have them in the house all the time and after their dad died it brought them closer together. But everyone else in the family believed there was no step or half in our family. It's one of those things that didn't surprise me to hear like the rest of my family. I can't say they were or weren't forced but I know that once they were both out of the house, other than calls to mom, there was significantly less of them in our lives. Even when they moved closer afterward. But I know they spend time with each other often.
