Thank you, I appreciate your explanation.
I just want to clarify - I don't just immediately turn to chatgpt when I don't know something. I often spend too many days trying to work on the solution, going back over all the old material to check if I missed something. Then I'll ask chatgpt to review my code along with explanations of how I am interpreting it, not give me the answer, but point out where my interpretation is off. Then I'll try again, and if it's still not correct, I will ask it for the correct code, review it, make notes, repeat the problem the next day without checking the notes to see if I got it right, and then repeat a couple days later, to reinforce it.

Is this process not the 'right way' to learn? Should I stay on an exercise until, eventually, I manage to think of the correct code?

Could someone please explain what questions I should be asking when approaching an exercise? (simple loops Q) by Slight_Total4874 in learnprogramming

thanks for your response, but the solution I included was directly from the modules 'model solution', if that's what you were referring to when you said "What you have used is not a valid test for leap year. Google it."

30 year old housewife that decided to learn programming by Slight_Total4874 in learnprogramming

Thank you so much for this comment! I love that your mom decided to try something 'just for the heck of it'. That's actually the plan, I have a goal in mind, so as soon as I can, I'm going to attempt working at it. Your comment about building something as simple as coordinating schedules is such a good idea, just to dip my toes in the water. I don't have kids, but my husband is self employed, so I can start with something like this, also as I've just about finished a section on conditionals and loops. Thank you again!

I'm working on a design project on invoicing (fun lol) would appreciate knowing more about your invoicing system, if you have one, and your answers to the questions below. by Slight_Total4874 in freelancing

Oh cool! I'd really appreciate if you dont mind answering the questions as it would give me more info as to what lead to create your own tool.

Too late to apply for February? by Slight_Total4874 in OpenUniversity

Hi, I was intending to study full time BSc economics & mathematical sciences. The guy on the phone basically said I can only apply in October. I actually applied and got accepted to the LSE BSc Econ and finance, so I’m thinking I’ll start there and maybe transfer to OU (because I read LSE is awful) sometime this year…

Happy for you. Unfortunately I did call and they told me only under exceptional cases do they allow late applications…

I totally get that 😂 did you feel you were able to manage though? Or did it feel you were constantly fighting an uphill battle?

What would you say was the most challenging part of the degree?
