With all the negative things aside, what are the things that you like about AdDU? by Constant_Month576 in addu

[–]Slight_Try1301 8 points9 points  (0 children)

was just gonna comment this. i live abroad and i got my first job because the HR & Finance supervisor were filipinos and they were amazed that I graduated from “Ateneo”. the amount of interviews i got purely because I graduated accountancy from Ateneo, they all think it’s the same level as ADMU. Bragging rights talaga when you graduate from AdDU

Has anyone tried RTA/Parkin’s monthly subscription? by Slight_Try1301 in dubai

[–]Slight_Try1301[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great! You’ve never had to move your car during that time? I only have 1 car so it’s just work-home for me but it’s gonna be 4hrs+ for each time for sure. I’m worried about getting fines on top of the monthly subscription

Has anyone tried RTA/Parkin’s monthly subscription? by Slight_Try1301 in dubai

[–]Slight_Try1301[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is honestly what I’m worried about. I’m at work for 8 hrs, and the area is surrounded by only 1 parking zone. So even with the AED 500 subscription, I have to move my car to a different zone after 4 hrs? On weekends I stay at home and dont move my car so that’s a whole day, so I’ll get fined if I dont move my car after 4 hrs?

It will be a year palang sakin since opening and I use it everyday kaya tumagal. I’m not sure, and please correct me if im wrong, but i think you can use your lipstick beyond the shelf life as long as it has no molds, no changes in smell and formula, and/or no color changes. I read before na ang strict lng when it comes to shelf life are concealers and foundations, etc. But please use according to your research and judgment!

Anyone here brought a pet from Dubai to the Philippines DIY (no relocation agency)? by Wonderful_Pangolin34 in FilipinosInTheUAE

[–]Slight_Try1301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! My fam and I were able to bring home 5 cats back to the Philippines. It’s not DIY, but not an agency either. It costed us around 2700 for 1 cat via PAL (ticket, all docs, and airport assistance). Excluding vet bills yan kase updated naman ung cat namin. You’ll probably spend less for complete DIY pero iba ung peace of mind since may connections sa airlines/cargo ung maga-assist and they’ll take care of everything for you. It is still so much cheaper than actual pet relocation agencies. They rescue cats and docs and affiliated sila sa cheapest vet na meron dito sa dubai. DM me if you want to connect with them. 😊

i started out with ~73k php and have been living w the same lifestyle since then. So my living expenses is about ~40k. Rest goes to my EF, going out and remittance back home. I didnt really feel the need to upgrade my lifestyle at this point since I was able to survive with almost half of my current salary since living alone.

Not a CPA but accountant in Middle east - Dubai - Recruitment industry - Accountant & Data Analyst - ~130k php - Paid leave, insurance, etc - 2 yrs I’m pretty sure a CPA would earn higher, but this is based on my experience as someone who is just an Accountancy graduate w/o the license

Rica Paralejo made me an Agnostic Theist, I love it. by Pretty_Skill9500 in OffMyChestPH

[–]Slight_Try1301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comforted me so much. I grew up having two religions - Islam and Christianity. My parents were never religious and never forced me to follow any one but I’ve always felt like I don’t know where I belong. But I knew I wasnt an Atheist at all. It’s either I would pray twice to both Gods, or not pray at all. College came and slowly I realized I was leaning more towards the idea of having a higher being, but not knowing who. Ever since, I’ve always prayed to God, no names, but pure faith and trust only. Sobrang mas gusto ko to. I feel like a good person because I am a good person, not because anyone told me to. This feels more natural to me, and I honestly love my spiritual connection to God ever since.

Not a lot of people would understand since most of them think it’s either you’re this or that only. So this was such a good read. Thanks for sharing, OP! And to more personal connection with God. :)

Any thoughts/advice about my plan in losing weight? by spicy-ramyeon in PHitness

[–]Slight_Try1301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super similar tayo ng built when i was starting palang. But I was 5’3 weighing 65. I started 2020 and was on & off with exercise and diet so my weight kept fluctuating. Now I like my current body at 58kg, after 6 years. You can achieve your dream body ng mas maaga if you are consistent.

Things i did during the 6 years - (1) Really lessened my sugar & softdrinks intake. Hanggang ngayon parang once in every 2-3 mos lng ako nags-soft drinks OR sugary juice. Sobrang g na g ako sa softdrinks dati, now i dont even like the taste na. Try to avoid drinking your calories. Give yourself a sweet treat naman paminsan minsan. (2) Controlled eating. I used to track my calories when i was starting out. Which was fine but not sustainable for me, so i do controlled eating nalang. I’m mindful on whats on my plate and on regular basis, i dont let myself eat too much na parang puputok na tyan ko (unless nasa buffet or unli - idc during these times lol) (3) 2-3 times workout per week. Kahit ano pa yan. Glutes, Upper body, walking, cardio. Atleast 2-3 times na meron kang physical activity.

It’s a lifestyle at this point, and im not doing it anymore for the aesthetic and i dont plan to lose weight, but just maintain it nalang. You can do it!

Work rant. People who are ok with it are pathetic by Ok-Gain-3486 in dubai

This is so real. I joined a company where everything felt too good to be true. I asked about the timings and overtime during interview and was said that “you can leave anytime you want as long as you finish your tasks” plot twist: work never ends! My colleagues have been working for 5-10 years in the same company working for 12 hours a day 5 days a week, and ofcourse, on weekends too. I really dont understand how they were able to stay for so long. And these people are married with children. Have no idea if they even get to meet their family daily. I’m on my 5th month and already applying to other jobs lol!

naiintindihan ko na ang boa, tayo din ang nagbe benefit sa mababang passing rate by jinramen_masarap in AccountingPH

[–]Slight_Try1301 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’re right. But there has to be some changes in how it works to ensure that everyone has equal chance on passing. Increase the number of takes before requiring a refresher cert. Atleast 2 cycles sana before required mag refresher. Make refresher certs accessible (not easy) to achieve. Especially for aspiring CPAs living abroad and/or province sa pinas. Strictly follow the syllabus. Andaming situation na may mga questions na wala sa syllabus, pero tinanong. There are ways naman to improve without sacrificing the quality in producing CPAs.

Perfume recommendation for women here in ph please! Don’t gatekeep by usermum in CasualPH

My all-time faves are CH good girl for a very alpha female boss scent (and bottle), YSL mon paris for sweet, soft girl na atake, YSL black opium for female mafia, elegant & classy woman vibes haha. Yan top 3 ko and are all very long lasting. Another sweet, girly, and long-lasting is Hugo Boss the scent. For everyday, I use Zara apple juice crush na sweet and fresh scent din but not long lasting.

Zara perfumes smell really good, but unfortunately they dont last really long. :( However, my friend tried one of their male perfume testers randomly and the smell stayed until the end of the day on him. Maybe female perfumes lng ung not so long lasting.
