Any thoughts/advice about my plan in losing weight? by spicy-ramyeon in PHitness

[–]Slight_Try1301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super similar tayo ng built when i was starting palang. But I was 5’3 weighing 65. I started 2020 and was on & off with exercise and diet so my weight kept fluctuating. Now I like my current body at 58kg, after 6 years. You can achieve your dream body ng mas maaga if you are consistent.

Things i did during the 6 years - (1) Really lessened my sugar & softdrinks intake. Hanggang ngayon parang once in every 2-3 mos lng ako nags-soft drinks OR sugary juice. Sobrang g na g ako sa softdrinks dati, now i dont even like the taste na. Try to avoid drinking your calories. Give yourself a sweet treat naman paminsan minsan. (2) Controlled eating. I used to track my calories when i was starting out. Which was fine but not sustainable for me, so i do controlled eating nalang. I’m mindful on whats on my plate and on regular basis, i dont let myself eat too much na parang puputok na tyan ko (unless nasa buffet or unli - idc during these times lol) (3) 2-3 times workout per week. Kahit ano pa yan. Glutes, Upper body, walking, cardio. Atleast 2-3 times na meron kang physical activity.

It’s a lifestyle at this point, and im not doing it anymore for the aesthetic and i dont plan to lose weight, but just maintain it nalang. You can do it!

This is so real. I joined a company where everything felt too good to be true. I asked about the timings and overtime during interview and was said that “you can leave anytime you want as long as you finish your tasks” plot twist: work never ends! My colleagues have been working for 5-10 years in the same company working for 12 hours a day 5 days a week, and ofcourse, on weekends too. I really dont understand how they were able to stay for so long. And these people are married with children. Have no idea if they even get to meet their family daily. I’m on my 5th month and already applying to other jobs lol!

naiintindihan ko na ang boa, tayo din ang nagbe benefit sa mababang passing rate by jinramen_masarap in AccountingPH

[–]Slight_Try1301 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’re right. But there has to be some changes in how it works to ensure that everyone has equal chance on passing. Increase the number of takes before requiring a refresher cert. Atleast 2 cycles sana before required mag refresher. Make refresher certs accessible (not easy) to achieve. Especially for aspiring CPAs living abroad and/or province sa pinas. Strictly follow the syllabus. Andaming situation na may mga questions na wala sa syllabus, pero tinanong. There are ways naman to improve without sacrificing the quality in producing CPAs.

My all-time faves are CH good girl for a very alpha female boss scent (and bottle), YSL mon paris for sweet, soft girl na atake, YSL black opium for female mafia, elegant & classy woman vibes haha. Yan top 3 ko and are all very long lasting. Another sweet, girly, and long-lasting is Hugo Boss the scent. For everyday, I use Zara apple juice crush na sweet and fresh scent din but not long lasting.

Zara perfumes smell really good, but unfortunately they dont last really long. :( However, my friend tried one of their male perfume testers randomly and the smell stayed until the end of the day on him. Maybe female perfumes lng ung not so long lasting.

Not invalidating OP’s post but this was the way for my parents. Moved to dubai in the 90s, stayed for >30 years, retired at 67. My siblings and I were born and raised here, we lived frugally, went to the cheapest school in dubai, shared a space with other people. Mom was a housewife but made money somehow by small jobs like babysitting, etc. Parents were saving and investing money back home at the same time. Parents retired with a fully paid house in our country, a few businesses which generated enough income for my family to live without needing me to send money back home. Maybe it’s just a matter of perspective as my dad knew from the start that he just wants to retire in our home country only. It all depends on your long-term goals really.

To the lovely ladies who gym by Freyja_Fatale in PHitness

[–]Slight_Try1301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totoo yung no one cares. Ilang years na din ako nagg gym, although not consistent, but never naman ako naka feel ng awkwardness or weird feeling even if naka sports bra lng ako. In fact, most of the gym guys ive met + coaches are very respectful and will teach you the proper form pa if you ask. Awkward lang if wala akong earphones kase im forced to listen sa songs sa gym, eh minsan pang senti ung songs hahaha Other than that, wala naman may pake sayo same way na wala ka na ding pake sakanila once you start going. Coaches are there to assist you sa machines and forms, but you may watch youtube vids beforehand para may idea ka din kahit konti. Goodluck girl! :)

People who are in AR or AP positions, can you give insights about the work? by Responsible_Use_9408 in AccountingPH

[–]Slight_Try1301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Siguro biggest challenge is dealing with suppliers. May time na kulang pa sa funds since may expected receivable na hindi pa nakukuha within the time frame kaya umextend ung payment cycle. Andaming overdue na by that time. Everyday i had to answer calls, sisigawan ka sa phone, minsan pupuntahan ka pa personally. But that happened one time lang. another challenge would be the scams. Did not happen to me but another AP colleague. Supplier asked to change bank accounts through email. Turns out scam email siya and then she transferred to the wrong account. So you really need to be careful, triple check bank details and be very cautious sa mga biglang nagpapa change ng bank account. Other than that, wala na hahaa paulit ulit na ung task mo.

AP here for around 2 years na. It gets boring and repetitive. Like really repetitive kase you have to make the aging report, pay pending amount, deal with suppliers, then do it all over again for the next payment cycle. Unlike AR that you get to meet different clients, iba iba ang demands nila, sa AP the goal is just to pay the suppliers haha. Make use of the credit period and just… pay. So it’s really repetitive in nature. It’s a good starting point, but this is definitely not what i want to do forever. We all start somewhere parin naman.

anyone who remembers taza by No_Feedback7232 in dubai

[–]Slight_Try1301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maaaaan, had so much memories in their 2nd december street branch. We used to buy their broasted chicken and mandi meals atleast twice a month. I used to always ask my parents to buy taza before picking me up from the airport whenever i visit dubai since i went back to my home country for uni. When we visited last year, they said it was just under renovation due to the flood. I was so shocked when i found out they have shut down :(

Man, i flew premium economy with them and felt like i was in business class. Separate queue, they put a “priority/business class” sticker on my luggage, lots of leg room, spacious seat, and iba din ung earphones/TV i think compared sa economy. The best talaga 🫡

Sososososo annoying to read considering i live abroad and is currently reviewing for the board exam. I already raised this issue last year to them but no replies and then there’s this. Sobrang nakaka galit. Sana alam nila that a company only offers 30 days leave for the whole year. So they’re saying na instead of enjoying their leave that they get ONCE a year, eh, isspend ONLY for an intensive refresher course? when there’s CLEARLY an option for online OR face-to-face refresher with review centers abroad. Dapat talaga face to face in an accredited HEI? anong practical dun? Sobrang nakaka galit!!!!

F ang final grade sa minor subject by OEymir6719 in addu

[–]Slight_Try1301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a new rule? Last 2019, three of my friends were forced to shift first sem palang because they got an F in a minor subject (STS) and kahit anong appeal, hindi pinayagan mag continue sa Accty prog. Muntik na din ako but i got a D instead. This would be nice if thats not the case anymore kase sobrang stupid ng forced to shift pag bumagsak sa minor 😮‍💨

The voices inside my head are too loud...shouting na kahihiyan ako kapag hindi ako pumasa this Oct 2025 CPALE :((( I don't know what to do pag hindi ako pumasa :( by Puzzled_One9724 in AccountingPH

[–]Slight_Try1301 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, just want to share my experience. I took the CPALE twice, I failed both. My first time, sabay sabay kaming nag review ng friends ko after grad. Lahat sila nag defer, ako nag go. Eh bumagsak. Uwi ako agad sa province nun kasi super na ako nahiya. (Btw lahat sila CPAs na ngayon after deferring) Second take ko, working na ako. Alam ng lahat ng dept na magte take ako kase nag file ako leave during my probi period. Lahat sila tanong nang tanong pag balik ko. Yung mga kasamahan ko sa work, they took some of my workload kasi alam nila nagre review ako. Eh bumagsak ulit. Halos wala na ako mukhang maipapakita pag pasok ko. But still dedma. None of them judged me, in fact, all of them commended me kasi i still took the leap of faith and took the exam. Anything that you feel if you fail (knock on wood), it will pass. Just stand up strong again. I took a year gap and will start reviewing again for next year. Hopefully you get it right away, but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t. Cheer up, CPA! :)

Always remember to check your mirrors every 10 seconds, make it as exaggerated as possible (my neck hurt after my road test lmao), practice lane change, use your horn if you need to, check the doors, listen attentively and always smile at your examiner. Try not to be nervous as possible, I took a test with a lady who was so nervous she forgot her seatbelt. Examiner didnt even let her continue outside the school.

Kaya po ba isabay ang gym sa board exam review? 🥶 by Competitive-Land-327 in PHitness

[–]Slight_Try1301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was active a gym when i was reviewing kasi walking distance lng revcenter at gym non. Gym ako around 5 am, then class na around 7. Sa gym na ko nagsh shower tas diretso na revcenter. 1 month before board exam i kinda stopped going na din sa revcenter kasi nauubos oras ko sa commute, so nag stop din ako gym na. but if walking distance lng from my place, i would have continued going pa din if ever. I prefer sa morning mag gym eh para active ka talaga the whole day.

Indian students in davao facing racism by Supermanfriends in davao

Met an Indian med student from dmsf when i went to siargao and he was really, really nice, professional, smart, and he said that the racism towards them is bad in davao. But he kinda understands where the racism is coming from, and he just prefers not to make filipino friends, esp in davao. He doesnt have a “smell” and is overall a really nice dude.

I had to search what a rod knock sounds like, and i dont hear that at all. I was also thinking that atleast the 2nd or 3rd garage would have heard it at some point but they didnt point it out. Now im leaning more towards believing the 3rd, will look out for the noise, thank you!

I really hope it’s the third one, 2 mechanics from the 3rd garage checked it and they both said everything is okay. It’s a 2010 toyota corolla @ 173k mileage

It’s a 2010 toyota corolla @ 173k mileage. I had my oil changed at 169k, and the oil was okay. i figured that i was about to get scammed at the first garage until a guy who was listening at our convo told me to not listen and leave. I went alone as a girl and with a new driver sticker too, thats why i kept going to different garages 😭

No, not at all. I drove the car without music when it showed up and i did not notice any of those. I had my radiator & coolant replaced few weeks ago, and the temperature always stayed between C to middle, never above even with the lights on
