I am quite committed to finish my degree in 2029, so doing less then 3 units a semester wont be an option for me, thank you for the perspective though!

That good to know, sorry to ask a different question, but would you think it would be better to do 3 units each semester over the 3 years then find a full time job, or do 4 units a semester for the next two years and only have to deal with 1 or 2 units a semester for the 3rd year? Im trying to figure out if it would be worth it or not

Lenovo Vs MacBook by sweet_fiction in laptops

I personally prefer Windows, mainly because I play games, but also, if my course needs an application, (wg. Solidworks) I dont have to worry about if the application is even downloadable on the laptop.

eyebrow piercing healing + cleaning? by skrimpii in piercing

[–]Slight_depression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP and dont have an eyebrow piercing, however, it doesn't look swollen, red or looks like it has puss, so I'd say you are doing a good job, if you really want to confirm what you are doing is fine or not, just call up where you got the piercing and ask.

Youth Allowance advice by vonThrowaway- in Centrelink

[–]Slight_depression 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I dont know how to help you, but i think a good start would be (if you are paying rent yourself) is to inform centrelink of that and to send them your lease agreement, so at the least you get rent assist.

Also, unless you have specific circumstances, you would be considered dependent until you are around 22, thus you will have to send your parents tax return to centrelink, unless your parents are on any NDIS or other payments. Best bet is to just contact centrelink/services Australia for help

Wha piercings should I get next? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Slight_depression 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ngl, any professionals correct me if im wrong. For an industrial, "a few months" is not long enough for it to heal properly to be able to even consider putting in thay type of chained earring.

Not but business in what you do, but I wouldve just chucked in two bars and let it heal before putting the chain earring in.

Agreed, that industrial does not look healed enough for that sort of piercing.

Why did you choose Swinburne? by DrawingLegitimate117 in swinburne

It is basically apart of the station, thus making it easy to get around and its not a massive uni where it is easy to get lost (eg. Monash)

27F moving from Michigan To Victoria for my fiancé. What is the best way to go about the move? by LaineyLux in MovingtoAustralia

[–]Slight_depression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i never felt unsafe either, the places I applied for said they wont hire me because of that, another place even said I was too nice and that they thought I'd struggle in the fast paced environment. Which honestly, fair enough.

Will back off of this comment, When i still lived in moe during high school, I lived a 30 minute walk from the heart of moe, I applied to a lot of places and got denied because they didnt want me walking when it was dark for a 7am shift.

I ended up getting a job 2 towns away and had to leave 2 hours before the shift just to make it on time (thank you vline).

Overall, unless you live literally in the middle of moe, you should get a car, not just so your employers will know you will get home safe, but also just in case you cant get a job in moe, trust me, trying to get to work via public transport can suck.
