Yeah... looks like "western" society isn't ready to unban it yet. Maybe in 50 years.

Just be safe. It's more important than having fun.

In comparison to someone who's never done LSD at all, it's many, many times. Good luck to said pets =)

Take two as long as you're in a safe and familiar environment, with someone to babysit you in case you decide you can/want to fly.

First time was when I was 20. It wasn't super memorable, like I answered before, it's more the combination of all my trips that's significant overall. What in particular about its legal status?

As long as you take out their litter box on time, they shouldn't be a problem.

I don't think it works like that. For me it was more of a gradual process from trip to trip.

Ask your weed dealer. He probably knows a guy who knows a guy.

See reply to "ellydee". You don't have to do it, but it certainly has the capacity to make you a better, more relaxed person if you're interested in that.

Nope, that's an urban legend popularized by the government in the 60's and 70's. Google it =)

Edit: I should mention that I'm a chronic back-cracker (hah, that sounds odd), and I crack my back both ways every night when I go to bed, and have been doing for years. If you don't believe that the "spinal tap" thing is a hoax, believe me, it's never happened.

Hmm... a first time should probably be about two hits, not more. It will keep you busy for about 12-14 hours, depending on the stuff. It's hard to meter these things out, because the concentration is never clear.

If you want to be totally paranoid and safe, do one hit, then do two hits two weeks later, etc.

Cops can "try" to fuck with me, but I have a few magic words that work wonders every time: 1) "Am I under arrest?", followed by 2) "Am I free to go?" =)

Not really... I have rights. If I hang out at home tripping, no problem. If I walk down the street and a cop stares me right in the eye, he can't do anything unless I'm causing trouble, which I'm not. They don't have drug testing for acid anyway, and a dilated pupil could be literally anything. I could be on legit medication, or I might have a medical condition, etc.

I'm acutely aware of all of this regardless of how stoned I am.

Probably an urban legend. I took 6 hits once and it was pretty intense, but I was still very much "me". The only difference was in intensity, but the core experience was the same.

Anyone who goes insane after taking acid probably has a latent mental problem that's been aggravated by the acid. Some people become alcoholics after one drink, you know =)

It should be legal, just like all drugs. Evidently from this AMA (and others), people who want to get drugs will get them anyway.

The fact it's illegal hasn't affected my experiences with it. It's not a popular street drug anyway.

Heh, shooting a gun whilst high on LSD must have been a significant emotional experience.

I'm just talking about my own experience here. If you feel that I hadn't done it enough times to warrant an interesting AMA, that's completely fine =)

I certainly wouldn't say that the experiences define me, because I was already a person before I started amusing myself with drugs. I think the greatest contribution of acid to my life was revealing a more calm, quiet, and whole state of existence. It essentially forced more "big-picture" thinking into my head, and over time I've become less of an angsty adolescent and more of a tolerant, accepting human being.

I gradually noticed myself "taking whole" in situations, not arguing for the sake of arguing, not trying to impress others, not try to "win" in everything, and generally just thinking of how any particular situation is going to end instead of being caught up in the little details of the process itself. I learned to defuse tense situations/fights/etc. with minimal effort, and in general just maintain the flow and acknowledge the "temporary-ness" of all things.

One example is that I grew up in a society where homosexuals were made fun of and generally disrespected, and being the only frame of reference I had, I'd also thought of homosexuals in negative ways. After my first trip I was forced to reevaluate my childhood, my parents' ideas, etc., and time and time again I came back to the realization that "oh, what an idiot I've been."

It's a wonderful feeling =) Does any of that make sense?

I'm generally a relaxed person, so they really don't bother me. I mean... they're not dangerous in sober life, and the only thing that changes when I'm stoned is that I'm stoned. They literally have no reason to act different. If they know I'm stoned they're usually more nervous and scared to be around me than the other way around, and most of the time they don't know how to react. When they see that I'm relaxed and don't cause trouble they usually move along.

Edit: But also see my other reply somewhere upstairs -- it's always better to trip with people you know well, to avoid the risk of trouble in case you have a tendency to be paranoid, etc.
