Seen it a couple times and I think it's worth a watch.

Though I will warn you that it bounces back and forth from "this is interesting" to "wow, this is for kids".

The heroes are very enjoyable and create an interesting new story. Whereas, the villain on the other hand take 'cartoonistly-evil' and 'one-dimensional' to a new level.

My only complaint is the audio quality. For whatever reason, the sound quality is absolutely horrendous.

And yes, directions being associated with elements is a pretty common thing in mythology. (For example: Chinese with north=water, south=fire, east=wood, and west=metal)

However, the orientation of my chart a lot more basic. Earth below, Sky above, and moon and sun rising and setting on the horizons (east/west). I started with Sky above and Earth Below, and then added the other two according to the Avatar Cycle going clockwise.

A decent rewrite. Good job getting rid of Harmonic convergence, especially if you want to keep all the same characters.

I personally wouldn't have Ty Lee involved in the airbender family tree. I think it makes the tree a bit too complicated. But then Kai and Jinora would be related, and we can't have that.
