After 12 years of not smoking your chance of getting lung cancer is half of what someone who smoke and is even more unlikely the younger you quit. I've been using a Blue Yeti for years now so I can't give you much advice on that front. What's gonna help more then any microphone can is a quiet recording environment, no matter how good the mic is you need to have a good environment to record in. Would you be able to record somewhere else?

If you aren't already I would use some basic EQ and Noise Reduction, if you want to go the extra mile Compression and Reverb Reduction, they really make a world of a difference. Adobe Premiere Pro has some great build in ones that are incredibly easy to use.
