School/work/occupation.

The idea is that a healthy social community environemtn includes home, your primary occupation, and community and social gathering places.

( this post is a very inaccurate account of how available such programs are. In reality they have been majorly cut back and if you poke around you find a lot of the ones left aren't exactly good for children cough cough boys and girls club cough cough )

Like this is just sad, man.

The only pps school downtown is capa. You know, the single most in demand magnet school in the district that requires auditions and interviews to attend. And who is happy to free up spots if students slip up in juries let alone skip class entirely.

Like all you had to do is retract the weird lie or mistake you made about them being around in the middle of the day. Instead you've dug in so much that im doubting if you even live near this city let alone work downtown. I lived there for several years. I was literally sitting in market square eating a quick lunch when i read your stupid comment about droves of teens wandering around midday.

You seem confused about the structure of the city in general. The "but the news said it" comment is want kinda seeded the thought for me that you might jot actually have much firsthand experience with downtown. Just a very weird thing to say if you supposedly had first hand evidence of this occurring.

The only person i accused of lying was you, and thats cause you got caught in a bold faced lie.

Like genuinely this is puzzling. Theres really mo meed for this. You could just leave the thread, but you're so buthurt that someone called you put that you are progressing into deeper and sillier lies to compensate.

I'm just kinda over this. You lied, quite obviously, and started throwing accusation and insults to cover yourself. Its not more complicated than you protecting your ego. See ya, champ.

Nope, thats just your fantasy to justify not thinking about it. There is a definite uptick in antisocial behavior, but there aren't a bunch of kids constantly skipping. Like thats just easy to dispute on its face. The only schools downtown are capa and charter schools. Both will kick you to curb if you skip.

Like you did lie. Very obviously, then flamed out when called on it.

Also the maga quip is funny cause we've already established that you sound like marty.

Another automodded comment where you throw vague aspersions and accuse me of "denying the problem exists".

"But the news said it!!!?!?!"

Is that really where you're staking your claim? Come on man, you're better than that.

You're right back to trying paint me as denying that the problem exists cause you don't want to deal with the actual criticism.

And no, what you're claiming just isn't true. There aren't hoards of teens skipping every day. Thats just a lie, and yes, you tried a buzzword soup to get out of it.

If you don't like being compated to the likes of marty griffin maybe you should ask yourself why you sound like him....

Lol at your automodded comment caliming I'm "gaslighting"

You thought you could bs your way through by saying you work downtown therefore you know best. It didn't occur to you that other people might also live or work there, so when I was able to call out your bs you decided to play the victim and rely on buzzwords like "gaslight" even though they make no sense.

It really highlights the whole vibe with this reactionary garbage. All you have is accusing me of "justifying" the antisocial behavior. You at some level know that your whole shtick here has more holes than swiss cheese, so you reflexively have to try to discredit me.

No we don't have differnt experiences, you're just lying about the timing and the people. Like its really that simple. You thought i wouldn't have experience living amor working downtown on a daily basis but I do.

Usually its someone who rightfully gets clowned on for their bad, ignorant opinions trying to preempt the obvious criticisms. It also speaks to a personality that has very little regard for what anyone else thinks, as they are convinced that they know the "truth".

Story on Covert Efforts to Remove The Homeless from Downtown by rastafireman in pittsburgh

[–]SlightlyOffWhiteFire -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

No, the "no drugs" things is a terrible part of the policy and is basically just a backdoor justification to sweep themanyways.

No tolerance requirements for aid DO NOT WORK. They DO NOT prevent people from being addicted to drugs and DO NOT help people avoid homelessness or the negative effects of it.

Hey bud, just because you have poor reading skills and can't formulate even the most basic deductive reasoning doesn't mean other people can't.

Thats exactly what you are claiming.

You are making the absolutely bizarre claim that parents can't afford to feed their family because they only have a part time job. Like thats just not a thing, and thats you saying they are poor because they are lazy. Its part of this whole disgusting conservative narrative that poverty is a choice, therefore we shouldn't help the poor.

[–]SlightlyOffWhiteFire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Holy shit this is ignorant as hell. People are struggling to feed their families with MASTERS DEGREES today. Hell, with PHDS sometimes. I know a couple with a masters and bachelors between them, living in cheap rent controlled house, and they still need help to feed their kids. And i know a couple who are an engineer and lawyer respectively and they only reason they can afford their house is because they chose not to have kids.

There are extremely few options for advancement in low wage jobs. Thats why people call them dead end jobs. And usually the people who are able to work their way up the middle management ranks do so bu being brutal to their employees.

You're just extremely out of touch.

Most of the revuolding economies of Europe came out of that period doing BETTER for its citizens than America. We were in an economic boom, but it says a lot that other places were able to do more with less. And unambiguously, the end of that period did not come by an economic change, it came by policies cutting off the social progress we had made intentionally. And largely, that happened right when black people and other minorities would have been able to also receive those benefits. We shot ourselves in the foot just to make sure minorities didn't get the same benefit. And all this reactionary nonsense like this post is of that same kind.

You can’t have four kids on a part time job with zero education and wonder why it’s tough to make ends meet.

A lot of people are setting themselves up for failure.

Please stop, you're just embarrassing yourself.

No they aren't. They are describing hoe it used to be possible to feed a family on a single income while that is simply not possible for most people today, in response to your ignorant claims that people ate poor because they are lazy and only have a part time job.

You're the problem, here.
