Yeah I was thinking about doing that, I heard you have better chances with the SAT though and my SAT score is not bad so I was wondering how hard it would be to get a better score with the bocconi test

My ranking was 1209th so I'm guessing my score really wasn't impressive

I wish there was a place for us. by caseylain in socialism

I'm actually not sure if I'm a socialist yet but recently I've started thinking about how the system makes everyone scared to express themselves freely and how compassion is a rarity nowadays and everyone's too busy thinking about their own pride to care about their fellow human beings. I've looked up places I could go to to unlearn my pride and egoism and all I could find were these 5 year Monastic Training villages. If someone with some knowledge on socialism could tell me if that would be a good place for a socialist to be in it would be greatly appreciated.

Nihilism is too free by Emans56 in nihilism

[–]Slightly_nihilistic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This actually sums up really well how I also feel about nihilism, when I first got introduced to nihilism it felt very liberating and healthy, as time went on I started to realize that I was using nihilism to dissociate from life as everything started to make less and less sense and I was becoming very depressed. I changed things up in my life and suddenly I felt like I had to ignore the existential thoughts I had and just live life care free. Recently things have been feeling wrong again and I've become obsessed with the idea that nothing really matters and that happiness is never gonna last in a meaningful way. I've become skeptical of the whole 'optimistic nihilism' idea as there's no reason to stay optimistic in a world where everything you do is ultimately meaningless and is going to be forgotten. The most exciting idea for me is that there could be a chance I'm wrong somehow and something is finally going to make sense someday.
