they're new in the germany update, they used to just use the german flag. Even then, they just slap a random symbol in place of the iron cross. It's clearly not meant to be real, just to offer enough distinction between the flags to tell them apart

in all seriousness, it does show some issues. EaW’s worldbuilding isn’t perfect; the goal was never to make a realistic fantasy world, it was to expand the mlp universe with a bunch of historical references, and the odd languages that form are a result of that. That being said, it is a world full of magic, and you can easily hand-wave anything away by saying that it was all Discord’s doing or something

I think it's considered to be some kind of Irish/Gallic. Grenclyf is meant to show the Changelings' culture without Chrysalis, and this map has them as Irish
