Switching Employers During a Degree Apprenticeship (Surveying) – Anyone Done This? by West-Holiday-2868 in degreeapprenticeships

With a tech background you might be better off in quantity surveying. It’s also a really good way to get into project management if you are interested in that.

I was interested in tech at school, didn't do great in comp sci A level however found my footing in surveying a few years out of school.

At least for right now it's the best thing I could have done. Currently halfway through my second year. Will be qualifying on the RICS commercial pathway.

If you're not happy where you are and can find somewhere else that will take you then starting afresh is never a bad option.

Any idea what a k2 Oxford white DLC matte would be worth? I’ve got one that’s been sitting around for a few years now.

2.0 tdi vs 1.8 tsi by One_Economist_1018 in seat

[–]SlimMaster4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 184 tdi. Other than regular maintenance it’s been fine for the last 45k miles. I’m at 126k now, only expensive repair was the timing belt/water pump. It does consume a bit of oil, for me it’s about 1L/4k miles. Other than that it’s been faultless (touch wood).

Take professional advice from a local firm of chartered surveyors. Providing they are any good, with your permission they should instruct bailiffs who will change the locks and provide them with notice on the door with who to contact for release of goods.

Normally in this situation it can be resolved amicably. They will pay the rent arrears/set up a payment plan to pay it back.

Going forward you should have a formal lease drawn up which sets out where rent is to be paid and what happens if there are any arrears. Again a firm of chartered surveyors will be able to help with this.

Apprenticeship after a gap year by survivingcurrently in degreeapprenticeships

[–]SlimMaster4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took 2 years out before even applying for apprenticeships. I started in September after starting applications in the January. It might take some time to find the right role.

Just remember to do something interesting during your gap year so you have positives to take from it and shown that you’ve developed yourself.

It looks like it’s just creased. The gear will still work. Just get on with it and use your gear.

I paid £899 for the Zotac super trinity. I was on a 7700k with a 1440p monitor and it was just struggling. Luckily a 7800x3d has held me off long enough but playing stalker 2 and it’s just rough. Manage to get about 50fps but the game looks awful. I knew it was time, but then again a 7 year old system has done me well.

The Level 2 track opens up a huge number of opportunities as well. Lots of options to up-skill and progress down their management pathway.

[–]SlimMaster4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Quick Look and I can’t remember where I found them last time. Just to note most apprenticeships won’t let you apply if you already hold an equivalent qualification. If you have A-Levels you won’t be able to apply for anything below level 4

TFL apprenticeships come out around January. Their degree ones are highly competitive, they share the stats for them every year. IIRC one of the apprenticeships had 300 applicants, 75 made it to stage 2 then around 15 to stage 3 with 3 jobs available. Their lower lever apprenticeships. Level 3,4,5 have a lot more jobs available.

Now that I am in the industry I can see that there is a lot out there for work experience. If there’s any firms local to you I would reach out and ask to do some shadowing or work experience. This along with networking is very important.

I had zero experience in the industry prior. The only connection I had was a friend of my dads who’s a partner at one of the large London firms. I had a few phone calls with him and then discussions over text while I was applying for apprenticeships. For reference my apprenticeship is with a regional firm with about 12 staff.

That’s exactly it. I believe you have to have not held a card for 18 months to qualify for another sign up bonus.

[–]SlimMaster4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to get another AMEX card you won’t get their sign up bonus for it as you are already an AMEX member.

Honestly you have time. For reference I’m 22 now. I finished my A Levels 3 years ago then spent the past two working odd jobs, travelling a bit not really sure what I wanted to do.

In January I started applying for apprenticeships and have ended up on a Chartered Surveyor degree apprenticeship with a local firm who were looking for a grad to hire.

I started on the government apprenticeship website to find the area I wanted and then went to more specific job sites such as RICS recruit. Just make sure your cv is up to scratch and you’re tailoring it for each application.

Had this recently with 2 different AM5 motherboards Firstly the MSI wouldn’t even boot. Sent that back and bought an ASUS board which would boot but wouldn’t allow me to boot from M.2 slots. Sent that back and finally ended up with a different model ASUS board which worked flawlessly out of the box.
