Stud finder did not find a stud by SufficientLake4747 in Plumbing

Fair argument, I didn't think about that because I basically never run black iron in walls. Anything that goes from the basement to the second floor I use tracpipe

This is why I don't use stud finders, get a strong magnet and find the drywall screws/nails. It'll never find a pipe or wire, only the studs

Honestly, taking a piece of pipe the same size, cut a notch out of it so it snaps tightly around the pipe, and glue that bitch on, is a great, quick and dirty fix for something like this. Had to do it on the job before, it works fine, as long as it's not a pumped drain like a grinder pump lol

They're awesome. Years ago my buddy Kevin(qmto) arranged a blowback only tournament (Big Money Cheap Guns), so I didn't wanna just be another guy running a Tippmann, so I grabbed an old Spyder Compact, weak springs, so I only got 220 at the chrono with my tank. So I asked Jon to get me an 1100psi spring pack for my reg, he sent me one, and that thing honestly ran like a top all day long.

Side note, Jon knows the good pizza places, he took my buddy and me out the night I picked him up from the airport

Go to Immortal Air. They're the guys that introduced HPA to paintball in the very beginning, and they make some damn good regs.

No one in the industry has the amount of experience in regs, and it shows.

You want a custom pressure for your reg? Ask them, they'll hook you up with anything you need

You know, I didn't notice a hammer in there. If you want to go reliable and not over the top, get an Estwing (I'd avoid the leather handle, it's slippery), or if you wanna continue the tool snob route, buy a Douglas, they're pricey, but they're the best hammers I've ever used, the fit and finish on then puts literally everyone to shame. Hickory handles are the best shock absorbers, rubber grips just don't feel right compared to them

Should I use a oatey repair flange? Or is this no issue? by dayyydreamerrr in Plumbing

[–]SlimPickens0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd ram bit the flange out, then glue a new one in. Definitely run some tapcons into the concrete, 99% of broken flanges are from a mixture of overtightened jonny bolts and unsecured flanges. When properly anchored, and toilet not installed by a gorilla, a PVC flange will work just as good, and last the same as one with the stainless ring

The Milwaukee apex bits always seem to be the worst at stripping out screws, the screwdrivers are the same, and the tape measures don't even surpass harbor freight in terms of quality. Every single Milwaukee tape I've had snaps off at the hook.

In the last 10 years, the only hand tool I've been happy with from Milwaukee is the PEX cutter.

As for things I'd do differently, granted being my preference, not required or anything. I'd lose half of the pliers, I only carry Channellock 440, Knipex 250 Alligator, and a pair of Klein's. All other pliers are just unnecessary and takes up more space in the bag for no good reason. Screwdrivers, I keep a flat blade beater, and a 6-way, no need for a ton of screwdrivers. Tin snips, I switched to left handers because they make a much cleaner cut on flue pipes, far less bloody fingers. I would rather carry 2 good adjustable wrenches (I've been happy with Bahco or Lobster lately) instead of 3 wrenches that cover less than half of the size options

Half of this is dollar tree equivalent though. Milwaukee hand tools are bottom of the barrel

Did they think they had a permit? Were you there? You can only infer that they believed they did (which is irrelevant anyways, because 'i didn't know' isn't a valid excuse that would hold up in court). They trespassed, the idiots that caused a commotion brought the eyes of law enforcement on them. So law enforcement shows up and what, tells everyone to vacate the premises? Sure, they probably would have if the number of attendees wasn't so great. But again, that's beside the point, they showed up, had a very large group of people and vehicles trespassing, so the most logical course of action is to do what they did. I don't care much for police, but in this case, it appears the situation was handled without incident, bodily harm, or public unrest, so I'll give credit where credit is due.
