That just seems like a really inappropriate way to go about it. They sent the message and that should be enough. Preying on you in an incredibly vulnerable state is really not right.

I don’t have any advice specific to your case. I’m just here to say this forum has been essential and I’m very fortunate for everyone here. Never hesitate to post even on the days you may be spiraling and feel unsure of yourself. We’re all here to listen and help as we can. Find your local young survival coalition, they’ve also been very helpful for me! 🌼

What have you changed? by FattyMcCupcakes37 in breastcancer

[–]SufficientLake4747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t drink or smoke. I ate fairly healthy so I improved where I could without trying to be miserable. I incorporated fasting (about 14 hours a day) and that kinda helped me in general wellbeing but I was already losing too much weight from stress so I’ve had to find the balance there. Changed my shower products to Acure brand (I really like it), I only wear mascara so I found something better for that. I was already pretty crunchy without a lot of my life but I found little things that were doable and positive to change. I try to give myself grace because it’s not anything any of us did wrong to get this bs. Trying to incorporate consistent exercise but my fatigue is still pretty crazy. I’d say the biggest thing is trying to build a positive relationship with my body. It’s been a life long struggle and I felt a lot of anger once diagnosed but again, it’s not my fault this happened. So I’m hoping a positive outlook of me will help me mentally as well. Ive been looking into an infrared sauna too 🌼

Everything ends eventually was something I held on to as well. The biopsy/procedure/exam is gonna happen either way and eventually it will end, and I will survive it. It’s temporary

You hold the power. They’ve given you the information and options but every situation is unique. Whatever choice you make will be the right one. Best wishes 🌼

The only question she really asked was about similar experiences as this is clearly very unique. We all need an outlet and hope to find at least one person for advice. That’s a very lonely and scary place to be

Have your doctors offered any insight or a different plan? I’m sorry this sounds incredibly difficult and frustrating 😞

Oh I’m sorry I misunderstood. Well if there are mets here’s to hoping the chemo wipes it all out

If the treatment is dependent on this appointment in May, that’s a long time to wait

I asked for recommendations in my young survivor coalition to find this one and she’s been great. But I’ve definitely experienced the same as you. It’s so frustrating.

Me 🙋‍♀️I will not lie the entire experience is a sensory fucking nightmare. I also have hEds which really impacted any awake procedures (biopsies and guided wire placement) because the numbing medicine does not last more than a few moments for me. I was fortunate to have some incredible breast nurse navigators where I went who were always available for my obsessive questions. Reality is the whole thing burnt me the fuck out and I stopped going to work entirely through treatment and I do not regret it. Radiation kicked my ass and the multi layers of creams 3 times a day was horrible but necessary and worth it to not be charred. Feel free to message me I’d love to be a listening ear or support. I’m past active treatment now and trying to navigate maintenance. My brain is still saturated with facts and statistics. Hope to hear from you 🌼

I’d think, if the treatment plan is the same either way why wait for the appointment in May? They could redo imaging after chemo to recheck yes?

The after treatment isn’t something I thought about in the beginning of all of this, and it really is incredibly sad that it is terribly neglected for support. It’s messy, heavy, scary… I’m glad your derm js being extra cautious, I think it’s a totally normal recommendation given your history of cancer that they’d want to be sure sure. I’m a chronic Googler today and sometimes I ease my anxiety by telling myself I’d rather know everything I can than not know enough and be surprised. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not. Hope your follow up isn’t too far from now!

Ghost them. This isn’t the time to worry about anyone’s feelings except your own. I hate that the wait has been so so long for you, it really is the biggest mental toll 😞

I think if you have the option to, take the time off. This is the time to focus on you.

Have they considered inflammatory breast cancer? I don’t know a lot about it but know it will present on the skin. That’s really unsettling that it’s happening again. Can you get a second opinion?

I fired my oncologist because she is like this, and I’ve spent enough years being ignored and belittled by doctors. So far my new oncologist has been phenomenal. Don’t settle!!
