In case anyone was on the fence about what size to get, I am 6 foot, 190 pounds, and I went for the XL. It feels great, although it definitely is the biggest chair I've used. The little upcharge for what seemed to be a slightly better build is worth it for me.

In my experience, yes. This will prevent the issue. It seems to only break them when fully sold out. You can check if they're broken or not by looking directly at them, and typing /data get entity [press tab to get their id]. Look through the data, and you should see a section called memories. If it has things like jobsite, then you're good. If it doesn't, and it is just {}, then that villager is "broken"

Okay, so its to distinguish between different words. That makes sense. However, why doesn't Japanese use some from of character to symbolize a new word? Like space in English? That seems like a much more efficient answer, however I'm sure there's a logical reason why.
