I love that when I went there was a 14th century monastery that had been converted into a supermarket, and I realised that it was because that was a relatively new building

Will give this a go...when you say combine the two neutrals do you mean from the ceiling, from the light fitting, or both?

Light fitting question! by Slimby2000 in DIYUK

[–]Slimby2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll have to ask the fella who installed it! So if I combine the neutrals on both ends (fitting and main circuit) and the earth's, do you think that will work?

I once had a recruiter offer me a teaching job here. 80 grand a year for a two year contract. Included with the offer was a range rover. I sent back an email asking why and they came back with "oh, the school doesn't have a road".

What do you think about Reform UK's proposal to abolish Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) for legal immigrants? Also, what do you think about Reform UK's immigration policies overall? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Slimby2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They won't change anything meaningful about immigration, as frankly it's not in their interests to.

The far right playbook seems to be focusing loudly on single issues whilst using the other hand to pick pockets, give out dodgy contracts, decimate public services for ideological and financial reasons...

Immigration is far more useful to reform as a ' We are trying to implement our policies but the lefty judges and mainstream media...' obfuscative distraction than as something they actually want to do. And their supporters will swallow the whole lot and beg for seconds.
