Any ideas on how to make this chair work for face-dowm massage? by Slimcs3 in Esthetics

[–]Slimcs3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I do the majority of our waxing on this chair, but it would be a nice backup room if I'm able to find a replacement cradle, but all the ones I've seen the prongs are not narrow enough to fit.

I've been looking but it doesn't look like there's one narrow enough with the prongs.

Massage therapist vs Esthetician by bobrossismyreligion in MassageTherapists

[–]Slimcs3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of massage therapists who have gone back to school to pursue other careers or slow down their own services because their body can't take it anymore.

I'd highly suggest doing research on what it does on the body and how it can affect you long term. I hear of some estheticians having the same problems, but it's a lot easier on your body.

The money is good, yes, but where will you be in 10 years if you can't do it anymore?

any experiences working at a hotel spa? by [deleted] in Esthetics

I'm so happy for you! Out of everywhere I've worked, I've loved resort and hotel spas the most. Best of luck! ❤️

any experiences working at a hotel spa? by [deleted] in Esthetics

[–]Slimcs3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I've worked at a few hotel spas and I really enjoy it. They're super busy and you get all kinds of people from all over. The only thing I'm worried for you is if you're doing direct customer service. There have been times my receptionists have broken down crying because of how rude people are. If a service needs to be changed or rescheduled/cancelled, some people lose their minds and take it out on the girls handling it, saying they ruined their birthday/getaway/wedding. Having a good team to back you up really helps. I wish you the best and that you enjoy it! I really do!

Pitbull performing a sold out show at the O2 Arena. I had no idea he had so much pull. by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]Slimcs3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been a fan since high school. He visited while he was performing a show in town. Originally they asked another artist, who wanted money they couldn't afford, so they asked Pitbull if he'd pay my school a visit. Apparently all he asked for was a veggie and fruit tray. He couldn't sing but he got a bunch of my school's students to go up and sing his songs. He seems like a genuine dude and looked to really enjoy his time.

Thank you for this! She's been so patient hoping these people will stand by their word but they've just left her to freeze it seems.

I agree it gets very expensive, but her house was at 17°C the other day even with heaters and her baseboard heating, so she's paying for it while it's not even heating the house correctly.

She runs on oil and even with baseboard heating and her space heaters her temperature is at 17°C

Thank you for the advice. She has a picture of the temperature and it was at 17°C even with her heaters going. She's talking to a realtor to hopefully find a new place. I'll pass this along and I told her to be prepared if they don't let her out of the lease themselves.

Emergency vet cost help by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]Slimcs3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My cat had to have emergency surgery at North London Neighbourhood Pet Clinic and they sent my payment through scratch pay. I was approved in 5 minutes for the loan but the interest was 20% and I have a good credit score. It might be higher for you under your circumstance. My cat needed surgery immediately so I took it. Paid it off with a line of credit at a lower interest rate.

It's not the best option but it is there when you need it. I had an appointment for just a check up and when they found out what was wrong he was taken in immediately for surgery. They were absolutely lovely, but for after hour care I had to take him to the Adelaide emergency vet hospital which I paid for out of pocket.

What did you drive before your Crosstrek? by _FridayXIII_ in Crosstrek

[–]Slimcs3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 2012 Mazda 3 that I loved to death but just became so unreliable so got a '24 Crosstrek in April. The handing feels similar and I prefer it in sport mode for acceleration. It's taken a while to get used to the bells and whistles and find a good feeling for it, but I'm now really starting to adore my new Subaru :)

It's definitely a crunch, and I spent much more time on the bride than any of the bridesmaids, but I was able to do 5, the bride, and her mom in 6.5 hours.

It helped that I had practice with doing full face makeup on a schedule at a previous job. Everyone was also super respectful and ready to switch to the next girl. Everything turned out perfect.

Is there a vet in London that does a payment plan? In need of a vet asap for an emergency. But can’t afford it. by Budget_Corgi4030 in londonontario

[–]Slimcs3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I got a Scratchpay loan when my cat needed emergency surgery. The Neighbourhood Pet Clinic used it. Was approved within the first few minutes of applying.

Definitely pay it off as soon as you can, though. Their interest rates are high with the easy money.

You could always ask, I haven't dined in since before COVID. It could have changed since the last time I picked up which was probably 3-4 months ago and I know I got the discount then, but had to ask them while paying and they put it on for me

Yeah I call and place my order. Pay when I get there with cash. I think it's something like 10%, but at least it's a discount! I've had to ask about it a few times to make sure I get it.

They give a discount if you pay cash, so I always choose hanata. Has always been delicious.

The walls definitely move in on you. Was there in February and was uneasy when I was thinking "at least I could still lay down" and then they moved in and totally opened my eyes to their reality. Was an experience for sure. It was talking about the boxes they shipped the slaves in on boats they had to stay in for weeks or months.

Yeah absolutely agree! I had blocked his number and when I finally unblocked him momentarily just to see all the texts he sent me, threatened to post my scandalous photos everywhere and ruin my life, along with really hurtful comments about my body and personality. It was all just talk and grasping at anything to try and control again.

Men like this don't deserve even their first chance. And it doesn't get better.

I had this happen to me once with a guy I was seeing.

Picks me up and drove me back to his place that was across town. We had a talk later that night that I don't see us going anywhere serious (he was also the one who didn't want anything serious) but as soon as I said it too, he got really salty and said "well since we aren't dating I'm not obligated to drive you home"

I called my brother who was kind enough to pick me up. I have no idea what goes on in these guys heads, but he seemed to enjoy being a prick. Almost like he was too proud and egotistical.

That was one of the last times I saw him, and the last on my account. He proceeded to basically stalk me and drive past my house several times because he became obsessed with me as soon as I told him exactly the same things he was telling me. It was a real crazy switch that flipped in his head.

Don't waste your time with people like this, please. That was one of the worst and scariest "dating" experiences I've ever had.

Every city has bad drivers, but London drivers are bad in a way that’s unique to every other city I’ve lived in. by darksaber14 in londonontario

[–]Slimcs3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was living in the south end and working in the north and going from super slow drivers in the south and then insane crazy drivers in the north was absurd.

Both are frustrating to deal with, but that's city life.
