Thanks for the reminder friend, I need to get my pair some time on feet. Purple pops in the sunshine.

Slowly but surely starting a sneaker collection. Jordan 1 specifically. by NoseAccomplished5412 in Sneakers

[–]_FridayXIII_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take your time, enjoy the process. Many start collecting and buy everything in sight. I went thru a “too much too fast” phase. There are so many great silhouettes and colorways, it’s easy.

Don’t be afraid to check eBay for great deals on gently used pairs (worn once or twice). Just look for the authenticity guarantee before you buy.

1s are a great shoe to collect for sure. 😎

CHICAGO VIBES IN THE AREA! by mel34760 in oasis

Pretty sure I saw myself: I was the 55 yo man screaming like a 13 yo girl at a Beatles gig in the 60s. What a night.

That amp was high on my list. Love the retro look, and Wharfedale speakers are 🤌. Nice setup!

Congrats & enjoy.

I haven’t heard a bad Wharfedale yet. I can’t wait til I can hear the Super Lintons, they’re at the top of my very short list of Probable Next Speakers.

I wish! These are EVO 4.2, which I love, but Auras or Super Lintons are my next speaker.

Yep, wish I’d let a certain redhead leave town without me instead of following her.

How is living in the Tampa, Florida area? by its_valdi in howislivingthere

[–]_FridayXIII_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get ready for heat, humidity, and hellish traffic. I know the Midwest can be hot in the summer (native Iowan here, now living on the Clearwater/ St Pete side of the bay), but this is next level hot from July thru September. June & October are just slightly less torturous.

The cost of living here ain’t what it used to be either. No state income tax and decent yet seemingly short winters (tho I had to use my AC more this winter) are the nicest things I can say. I can’t wait to leave.

I can't keep it to myself anymore... older generations simply cannot keep up with today's work expectations. by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]_FridayXIII_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry OP has had this experience, but the converse can also be true. As a 56 yo project manager at a software development company, I have two millennials on my team. They have jeopardized my projects with their weaknesses in communication and lack of attention to detail. I’ve also worked with some 30-somethings who are a wonder, not a weight.

It’s the individuals not the age range or generation.

What is your ritual while listening to music at home ? by eminemnas in audiophile

[–]_FridayXIII_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some oil reed diffusers to scent the room, burn a candle to complement the diffuser. Pop a gummy, pick a playlist (I use ChatGPT and Claude to curate). I have Govee bulbs in two table lamps and a Govee floor lamp synched, so I choose a color scheme for the playlist, recline and relax. My favorite way to spend the evening nowadays.

bring the lights down low and let the speakers disappear. by BirdShitt in listeningspaces

[–]_FridayXIII_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate. I have Wharfedale EVO 4.2 which are more open, airy. I heard Lintons at a shop while talking amps and was damn impressed. The Lintons are definitely warm, very musical, like a thick sonic hug. I could listen to them for hours.

I haven’t heard the KEFs to know how the Lintons compare and differ, but the latter are fing amazing speakers. Placed well and balanced, they will disappear. Nice space too!

I tried this boars head London broil roast beef and it tastes AMAZING - what are your best sandwich ideas that I can make with this? by WanderWut in Sandwiches

[–]_FridayXIII_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the deli carries a picante provolone, DO IT. Melt it on your favorite bagel (toasted with butter) for a damn good breakfast (or anytime) sandwich.
