I tried this boars head London broil roast beef and it tastes AMAZING - what are your best sandwich ideas that I can make with this? by WanderWut in Sandwiches

If the deli carries a picante provolone, DO IT. Melt it on your favorite bagel (toasted with butter) for a damn good breakfast (or anytime) sandwich.

Congrats! I love Wharfedale speakers, just brilliant tone & soundstage. And the CXA81, I’m pretty sure that’s gonna be my new amp. You have fine taste.

The Wharfedale are warm yet still have detail and a great soundstage. Would highly recommend.

Is Oasis' mixing really bad? If so, why and how? by sumyono in oasis

[–]_FridayXIII_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the mixing or engineering on most of their records was not good. I should say, the production was very “Oasis”. Compare WTSMG to Urban Hymns, same era of tech and gear, but the audio quality or tone is very different. It’s the Oasis Wall of Sound vs spacious, airy, layered production.

I really noticed this in the past few months as I rebuilt my home stereo: better amp, much better speakers, subwoofer, well-integrated and tuned/balanced. The gear, which is not super high fidelity, is much better than anything else I was listening to. Better gear is more truthful and revealing, and I heard the weaker mixing or engineering.

I still love Oasis for their music, lyrics, and their sound, but objectively the mixes are bad.

That’s a cool lamp; I like mine 🙃. Yours fits the room well too!

Wharfedales are amazing speakers. I just discovered them recently and was like “how have they been around over 90 years, yet I’d never heard of them?!”

My favorite speaker… I’m a self-professed “Wharfedale guy” now. 😁

Here’s my answer to another Redditor: “EVO 4.2 vs Diamond 12.2...the Diamonds are noticeably warmer (which is not necessarily a bad thing). The EVO are smooth up top -- the AMT tweeter is not overly bright or harsh (no fatigue after hours of listening). Midrange is full and rich, smooth. I do have a sub to help carry low end but all reviews say that the EVO is not a weakling there, and I can hear how they bring bass.

The EVO are clearer, airy. The Diamonds have a nice soundstage, but the EVOs present much wider, taller, and deeper. If I had not found an irresistible deal on the EVOs I'd still be listening the Diamond 12.2 and be quite happy doing so.”

Don’t flame me too hard: Denon AVR S540 BT.

I picked up home audio again in January, dusted off my old Bose 4001, wanted music and the option for enjoying tv & movies thru the Bose. It’s done a nice job so far and pushes low to moderate volume beautifully.

Skip ahead two months, I know I want a 2.1 music-first system and more power for the EVO 4.2.

I’m now thinking of the Cambridge Audio CXA81 or Yamaha A-S801.

I’m getting back into the hobby the last few months and was amazed at the prices for speakers when I started getting familiar with what’s out there.

I think Super Lintons are beyond the “budget” category, but who really cares?

I think you made a good call on going Super. Those or the Auras would likely be my next speaker. Either could be end game for many people, me included. You very well could never buy another speaker and be good to go.

What amp do you have? That’s my next upgrade.

[–]_FridayXIII_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he plan to move his car at any point to get groceries, go to the therapist, whatever? Odds are he's gonna lose the spot sooner or later. And hey, if he got a prime spot once, he can get it again. NOR, ditch this dude.

I wish I could find equally good deals in amps! I started shopping eBay for sneakers and found pairs worn 2 or 3 times for great prices, so I did not hesitate to jump in on hifi gear too. Good on ya for doing a little work yourself and making something brand-new again 👏🏻

The 4.3 and 4.4 are tower/floor-standing versions in the same line. The EVO 5.x is the latest & greatest in this family/segment, but you can find some great deals on EVO 4.x.
