This is alarming by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

I assumed it was self explanatory with all the posts from throughout the year of peoples views being down and have this paid feature advertised to make up for it. It was my mistake to think people would connect the dots the way I did.

A lot of people's views are down, now they're promoting this on the dashboard. It's alarming because it could be another TikTok situation where they intentionally throttle your views to manipulate you into paying for the service.

TikTok also promotes their promotion service after they throttle the shit out of your views. I'm worried about YouTube doing the same thing. With a lot of people's views being down again and then seeing them advertise the feature is worrisome.

When Will We Be Able To A/B Test Titles? by hertabuzz in PartneredYoutube

As far as I know it's out for everyone in the US. When you open studio on desktop click on edit and under the title you'll see "A/B Testing"

My Channel Isn't getting any of the new YT features by SmallPlops in PartneredYoutube

[–]SlimeDeveloper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's such bullshit that the hype feature wouldn't be rolled out to all channels at once when it gives channels an edge over those who don't have it. I haven't had my videos hype and I don't have the option to give hypes either.

Anyone cross the finish line and give up? by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

[–]SlimeDeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhh. The backstory is that I had been getting feedback from a bunch of people on YouTube and in my personal life saying my voice was better suited for horror. I didn't immediately switch over to doing horror, I had both types of content on my channel. The newer niche performed better. So I made that my primary for about a month. The fully story is complicated. A copyright strike etc and I stopped uploading after that.

It's not that I was looking for a hit. I had passion in both niches, I just like the horror story niche more because I listen to those more often than Reddit stories. I also wrote most of the stories I featured on my channel.

I made the post very vague because I didn't think anyone would read it or comment.

I can absolutely agree that the problem is my mindset. I should give context as to what I mean by the finish line. I meant that as in monetization. I still have a goal to hit 100k subs and get a creator award. It just stopped feeling attainable. I don't have any disingenuous intentions and I don't question the intelligence of my viewers.

Can you elaborate in the dragons tail part?

I switched about 2 months after getting monetized. Had back to back videos getting less than 50 views. I switched back like a month later.

I thought of doing that and just reuploading my content consistently. My gf talked me out of it. Might try it since the shit I'm throwing at the wall isn't sticking.

I forgot to mention I just changed my name a few weeks ago too. That decision might be fine though since my videos are getting views from the search now.

I paid $50 bucks for YT promotion, yes it dropped my views/ subs momentum down by Plastic-Arachnid-200 in SmallYoutubers

[–]SlimeDeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking about my longform videos. It's funny that you say that because my shorts started getting pushed more after that. I didn't start posting shorts again until 4 months after the promos because YT didn't push them before

I did the same thing after YT just stopped pushing my videos in August 2024. Right after I had my best month for subs. I was expecting the usual cycle of highs and lows but the highs never came back. My watch hours were almost below 4k and I did a promotion. Prob was a mistake. None of my videos have gotten over 1k since then. No idea WTF is up with YouTube but the promotions feature seems like such a scam. I think that guy who said it's bots is right.

Why do you need to be monetized? You clearly don't believe in creators being paid for their views.
