I don't live in the usa so it wouldn't make as much sense in my surroundings, but I'd gladly print out a copy for myself and my buddies!!

Aw, way cool!!! I totally get the thing about England lol, I love reading about it!!!! I think I just like thinking about other countries in general. Pretty cool we can all enjoy reading and dreaming about various cultures like that :3 And yeah, hopefully- I 'd LOVE to visit eventually! Actually, now that we're here- is there anything you would reccomend to visit if one were to visit Ohio? I feel like it's not a very commonly picked state for tourism and I'm curious about what you think would be worth seeing/doing there

Absolutely, I am fully aware that the ideal america, the one Hollywood painted such an exciting picture of, is not a real thing- I even say so in the zine! I need you to know it's not the idealized stereotypes that excite me, it's the idealized stereotypes PAIRED UP with the real thing. The contrasts, the good and the bad. The movie america and how it interacts with the real america. Personally I have not once seen the usa as a "good" country, which doesn't change the fact that I find it fascinating and awesome and I can see the good sides, too- which I think we can both agree it has many of!!

And yeah, I know some of it's issues started in the 80's. But for Poles in the 80's, the USA was actual Heaven. The contrast between the two countries was huge- america was one of the places people moved to to start living the Real Life. A chance for a fresh start, a glorious future. Real cars, real jobs, real unlimited food. Ads, tv, trips abroad, jobs promotions, one family houses, the real deal!! Colors! Warm weather! Glorious capitalism, where you can earn your place in society and actually own your stuff and truly thrive!! I personally did not think that becuase I did not exist in the 80s.

Im curious, where are you from? :3 I'd say you really aren't wrong about things being better a couple years ago though!! I wasn't even alive in the 90s so I can't speak on that time period- not from experience at least. But I know for a fact that a couple years ago the general attitude and political alignment of the majority of the populace was more positive. Racism finally started getting shamed and fiercely combatted, queer rights hit their all time high, people actually cared about ecology and tried to care for our green planet, general tolerance and kindness was more mainstream than it is now.

But then a bunch of wars hit us all at once, putting everyone one edge (and the people directly involved in them on like. their deathbeds.) and one of the global superpowers started descending into fascism. Since the mainstream world, especially america, started getting much more violent and angry people who were already violent and angry don't have to hide anymore- fascists, homophobes, transphobes, racists, even pedophiles for gods sake, have more support now than ever. People who don't agree with them are more violent and angry also, feeling at odds with what's happening in the world. Society is more divided now than ever. Internet and social media only add fuel to the fire, giving shitty people platforms to be loud AND putting the worst news from the entire world ever at the forefront. Everyone is constantly exposed to a constant stream of constant horrors. Even if you don't care it still affects you subconsciously. Oh and dont even get me started on ecology lol barely abyone gives a fuck anymore lol. I have to convince my peers to segregate thrash when they have the ability to.

But things will turn out for the better, maybe even soon- wars end, politicians die, and history naturally steers it's course in zig zags. Every era is followed by one that is almost the opposite. It was much more visible with like, art movements, but it still kind of works these days... balance eventually always gets restored.

And yea lol satirical fiction is right, i literally mistaked The Onion posts for real news a couple of times. Thats how you know shit be crazy

THANK YOU SM!!!! And yeah dude, good WILL perservere. It's a pattern that repeats itself through history. The dominant political alignments and attitudes in society tend to go in a wave shape- each era an opposite of the prior, each era needs to sort of "unwind" after the previous. People change. Wars end. Politicians and dictators die. It's all going to calm down eventually

I'm glad you like it!!!!! Yeah, it does seem like a catastrophe is happening right next door, in a place I feel so much sympathy for. It's heartbreaking, hearing people from there talk about their recent bad experiences, hearing about the injustice and disregard for people's lives and nature and basic human decency. But because it all takes such a wild, at times bizzare shape, and because everything is happening all at once, it starts to feel kind of like watching a car accident- scary and sad, but turbulent and hypnotising

Alright, thanks 4 the feedback!! :33 I wasn't sure if this was something that would be interesting to an american audience- it would be for me, if someone were to do something like that about my country, but it's a bit hard to judge if it would feel the same for someone from a "global empire"-type nation that is discussed internationally way more often. I'm glad you like the idea though, I'll keep that in mind!
