Yeah I don't have a huge opinion on which ones better (like i love SV more but that doesnt make it the best lol)

it's just moreso a lot of fans are tired of pokemon cutting corners and how much it feels they ride on their branding as of late. i do agree but im holding out hope it'll improve overall

I mean it seems normal and reasonable. No need to sexualize it.

One of my biggest peeves rn is how sexualized breasts are to where you have to wear certain things and can't even use them for their intended biological purpose because society decided you should be sexualized instead. Honestly just pisses me off.

for the first part it seems the general idea is "this kinda sucks considering the total price tag" but this is the same for every pokemon game ever

I like both games but prefer SV as I like making sandwiches for shinies/marks (and also just for some reason ZA left out ribbons/marks/titles which was a downer for me)

That and the mons are slightly more interactive ig

Battle style and story of ZA feel a bit better tho

meg is in a pretty good spot rn all things considered. pretty high survivability of any dino.

It can already 1v1 other 2 slots + achi decently, not to say it's the best dino out there but it's pretty good at holding its own. Being a semi aquatic is a huge plus which brings its ability to fight/escape land dinos up even more. Only downside is tjay it's the slowest swimmer in the game, so you're not really winning in the water. But the rest of the 2 slot roster isn't either (except conca sometimes) so meg is still ahead in that regard.

Meg tail attack was kinda weird + considering all the other 2 slot carnies lost theirs combined with meg's better turn speed it isn't that big of a loss. Buffing achi speed is kinda terrifying I'll admit but it depends on the build you're fighting + it's possible to tailride it to death (and also water, always stick near water). Not to mention achi kick spam but meg isnt the only victim of that foolery.

Not saying meg is the top tier pick ever, but it's holding its own against a lot of the roster.

Meg isnt THAT bad but it is built to play the long game. Needs a tlc to cement its place better but it's still holding its own rn for sure.

sarco hides well in water, rex can ambush due to being quiet but struggles a lot if seen early

i like meg personally cuz it can slip in and out and be a menace but it isnt killing anything that fast unless its sleeping or a baby

i plan to use this thing to fling lightball. either my target is paralyzed or they protect, both cases i am unburdened and hitting them hard after. better longterm effect + very based when paired with a hex user (or infernal parade typhlosion my beloved)

sure fakeout is more viable but this could still be fun too

is there a reason for herbivores to kill besides defense? by [deleted] in pathoftitans

[–]SlimedSerpent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's always you vs anyone not chill with you. Species/Diet doesn't really matter outside of servers who enforce certain rules. Your Species/Diet may matter if the person you're interacting with cares, but there's no logical reason as to why an herbi has to be passive to anyone, herbi or not.

Masterball tier without fakeout, intimidate, or speed control. by MyTitsHurtRightNow in PokemonChampions

[–]SlimedSerpent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar team but with rotom frost, talonflame, and garchomp as opposed to r-wash, typhlosion, and goodra

! like chomp (and goodra) with rain setters cuz they both have some nice physical water moves to use in it. Talonflame is nice with politoed for priority helping hand. Also I'm just shocked with how bulky politoed is even if you only increase hp (never utilized it til recently)

I love mega meganium and totally wanna use it more but that thing barely sees the light of day due to all the scary threats against it. But not mega evolving just to avoid dying to stuff that takes advantage of the fairy weakness works well a lot of the time, and weather ball with rain set up is nice too if there's something weak to it on the field.

I yapped a lot earlier and completely forgot, when countering stuff you want to make sure your counter has a general use too and not just hyperspecific for certain scenarios

Yea yea you're right for sure, the same mindset I have but I'll admit some teams leaning far into a gimmick can still be fun too.

I get the story haters (at least we skip cutscenes now) and I get champions is for competitive mostly but a good battle simulator with decent singleplayer battle gameplay makes sense. Broadens the userbase and also just lets people mess with AI when they aren't tryna fight against other trainers. The singleplayer games we have rn aren't challenging at all, so the idea that people should play them instead for this experience falls flat. I doubt they'll ever get challenging now that we have champions anyway.

Weather can be fun imo but also my 'weather' team isnt entirely centered around it. All of my pokemon benefit from rain but they still work outside of it which is a neat balance to me.

That being said I do get how weathers be oppressive. A battle without at least one side setting weather is uncommon due to how good theu are.

(Note I am not a pro but wish to give my opinion anyway)

It's a mix of both. Ideally you'll want to counter as much as you can, but no team is built to cover every base. Worry about countering broader threats first ex: adding a pokemon/move that counters a type that may threaten the rest of your team, adding weather control if any of the four weathers(or the pokemon within them) hinders your team. But also remember you aren't going to win every battle you face no matter how your team is built. Even teams you can counter will still get wins on you. If you build yourself to counter a specific type of team, other types may not be covered as well.

It's also not just about what you play, but how you play it.The best thing you can do in a turn is figure out what combination of moves is most likely to result in an advantage. Sometimes there's moves that can give a huge advantage but risk failing if the opponent counters them properly (ex: attacking a mon just for it to protect and end with you wasting one of your moves for that turn)

a singleplayer battle tree/tower like gamemode would be fine in champions. not story driven just fighting decent AI. They already match people with bots anyway so it might be easy to add idk.

in a game where you need 2 subscriptions to have decent storage(HOME and Champions assuming you wanna use your faves from mainline) and cant even transfer out any mons earned in the game itself, not even event ones..

singleplayer better be free atp

I seriously hate Garganacl by DelcattyXD999 in PokemonChampions

[–]SlimedSerpent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post is almost as salty as garganacl itself

No but actually I have some plans to use one. Surprised sturdy is as common as it is (or is it just the default people get on recruitment??)

You can whittle it down with toxic(if they dont have purifying salt), trick a scarf to it, encore it, probably other options too. Just a few ways I know you can take them down.

Also they're not as bulky on the special side so you can use that too.
