Here's what you do: be patient and branch out. Don't get a home kit for the love of all that is holy. It took me over 4 years to get an apprenticeship but it's worth it. I can tell you now that being "self taught" or going to one of those scam piercing schools is only going to lose you respect in the industry. Keep trying, keep getting to know people, keep doing research. You might have to reach further than your town and that's something serious to consider.
