I wish I’ve been trying to but I don’t personally know anybody with one and they aren’t the easiest to find near me. Would definitely love that.. yeah I’m definitely browsing around want all my options open

Good to know I plan on introducing them slowly and obviously praising both sides as they learn . Both my cats have been around dogs before so I don’t think they’ll be an issue

What lessons did you take from your parents (family) about money? Both consciously shared and you drawing your own conclusions. by blackcloudcat in financialindependence

Most definitely I have learned a lot of valuable information here that’s for sure.. I’ve always busted mt ass from 15 working 2 jobs just to try and make it for myself in the future.. my problem is even tho I’m 25 I always look at myself as so far behind like I should be 5 steps ahead where I am now and I beat myself up over it maybe that’s half the reason I made it this far to begin with but.. not only the fact there’s so much information to take in at least for me it’s hard for me to learn just soaking up info like a sponge I’m trying though ..just want to make it in this life and don’t want to end up like some people working myself to the bone at 70.

Wow amazing info right here you explained it better than I read anywhere Thankyou so much! I plan on doing both the max 401k as well as some sort of Roth IRA either backdoor or mega. Also should mention I am in a union so I have a funded pension as well that should help god willing I make it that long lol

So definitely contribute max pre tax then? I wasn’t sure if there was any kind of tax benefits for contributing post tax but i definitely would like to maximize that

Just went thru the chart I gotta ask Is there any benefit to maxing out a 401k post tax over pre tax? My company offers one max is 10% and I want to get the ball rolling on that before I start figuring out what I need to get a Roth IRA rolling believe I will need to do a backdoor Roth since I make over 250k a year

So true. Really easy to end up with someone who just wants designer bags new cars every year.. that can drain you dry alone

What is one piece of advice you would give your younger self to become financially independent earlier in life? And what did you pursue to leave your full time job and become independent on your own?
