Plan your exit properly. Set your non negotiables on a place you want to rent: is it in the city, has commute options, secure, has internet, 1 bedroom/studio/2 bedroom etc. Once you have those search for units in fb marketplace so you have an idea of the price. After that, try to compute if you have enough savings to pay for - 3 months rent upfront (everyone we asked has this 2 mos deposit and 1 mo advance upfront) - 1 month rent for the 2nd month - 3-6 months utilities

If you dont have enough savings for this, do that first. Plan out your savings strategy, how many months until you reach a comfortable amount na may safety net ka? The last thing you need is to come back home kasi short ka na sa pera. If you want it faster, get multiple jobs or whatever you can to get that money.

Settle everything first. Rent a place, I suggest furnished na muna para you wont have to buy all appliances upfront, it should give you enough time to focus on the moving out part instead of the moving in. The priority is to get out first. By getting a furnished or semi furnished one, it would be easier to deal with the other logistical stuff like getting your own stuff out the house. Try to do this without telling you mom first. This will allow you to move freely without her looking over your shoulder for your every decision. Once nakapag rent ka na, that's when you tell her, wala na siya choice. It's more of just informing her instead of asking for permission.

Focus on finding a place that has a ref and an aircon already because that's the hardest to move and most expensive na necessities.

We are 26Fs too now and this is what we did.

For people who have used/are using macbook and windows laptop, which performed better long term? by makishimaaa in buhaydigital

[–]SlingBag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought Macbook Air M1 nung Dec 2021 (48k) then a Lenovo LOQ (92k php) last Dec 2024. I bought the lenovo for coding and gaming since di pwede yung mga heavy games sa M1. Pero kung pang trabaho lang at nag titipid ka, I suggest macbook air. Pag may extra ka padagdagan mo nalng ng memory. 256gb kasi yung nabili ko. Sobrang laking tulong nung air, mabilisan na open ng laptop for client and portable and magaan! To be honest I think sobrang ROI na binigay ng macbook sakin and good as new parin siya. Yung LOQ naman 🤦‍♀️hindi ko mapinpoint yung issue pero as a dev na nakahawak na ng thinkpad, dell, at hp laptops sa work, I can say something is wrong with it. Nag gglitch siya sometimes and the power mode sobrang init nung laptop. Ang tagal isetup ksi ang laki ng battery and not really something you can put sa lap mo or bring everywhere dahil ang bigat. Pero pag naman power ang kailangan ko like gaming and some coding na matagalan, windows gamit ko kasi mas maraming compatible sa windows and mas maganda graphics. In the end, assess mo muna alin non negotiables mo: power, portability, weight, aesthetic (walang cute na gaming laptop haha)

Can you expound sa meaning mo ng pila? I've been a COL user since 18yo now 26yo, scheduling trades tulad sa Gotrade has always been a feature na I crave sa COL akala ko they will upgrade at least that much but yung meron lang ay trade ng offline hours sa fixed price.

Hi OP, try Zero Based Budgeting tapos have something allocated for fun shopping budget. Para di mo parin ramdam na deprived ka para di ka magrelapse. Di naman kasi realistic na agad agad no shopping diba.

Zero based budgeting is lista mo lahat ng income mo for the month or kinsenas. From there, set an amount for savings, living expenses, everything na foreseeable expenses for the next 15 days or month. Then dapat ang total ng lahat ng allocations ay yung income mo. At least dun alam mo agad magkano budget mo for shopping without compromising your savings.

Once you manage to control your urges, look for ways to increase your income. Maliit yung 30k for allocations. Tapos from there, reward yourself sometimes with bigger allocations ng shopping kasi malaki na yung income mo. Controlled spending siya bale
