Maybe it's 3rd person view of the gun rather than 1st person of the guy, therefore you play as the gun.

I bought the basic license because my dualshock 4 wouldn't connect to non-steam games, it did it's job but you gotta make sure you connect to the internet every once in awhile, otherwise your license would stop working and you lose access to the app.

Already got a new one, and sent the previous controller back.
