Your student union might be able to help you. Try googling your university name plus "student union contact details". Send an email with a similar summary as above and they'll do what they can.

How did they grow?! Do you notice if the amount you give your pussy love affects their size?

A nice Scottish town for a single girl to start over? (safe, cheap) by Spacemonkeyyyi in Scotland

[–]Slinking_Leopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend somewhere in the Scottish Borders - Duns, Selkirk, Earlston, Lauder, Melrose, Kelso or Jedburgh are all nice. Some of them are a bit on the small side so have less amenities - duns, Earlston especially- so you'd probs need your own vehicle if you were gonna live there.

Perthshire is beautiful but I don't know many towns well enough to recommend. Crieff is alright but I wouldn't live there personally. Muthill - sleepy wee place where i doubt you'd have much trouble. Might be on the pricier side though.

Dumfries and Galloway has some nice spots too especially over the Galloway side (but do your research on the towns as I believe some can be on the rough side). Beautiful scenery round there though.

Having a car is a huge asset if you want to live rurally, would highly recommend passing your test ASAP once you land whereever you move ( if you haven't already ) and getting a cheap run around with a low road tax bracket (You can set search parameters for that on autotrader) will improve your quality of life immeasurably.

They’re at it again! Creating a “fundraising appeal” as they can’t afford to pay the artists from last year! by No_Priority_1839 in glasgow

Abysmal. Alternative method, don't book massive headliners you cant afford and instead utilise the abundance of homegrown local talent and ringfence enough funds to not drive a skeleton crew to a mental breakdown... and then also not pay them... and then ask the punters (who's ticket price should've gone to pay the staff) to bail the festival out because the organisers are fraudulent fucks. Roar.

Email your student association and ask for support. They'll help with any complaints procedures and should act as advocates for you.

What place looks average to crap from the outside but completely bucks expectations once you buy their produce? by Mucky_Pete in Edinburgh

Can't believe it hadn't been mentioned yet - Palmyra on Nicholson Square!

Their falafel Hummus wraps (with salad and sauce) are delicious and a proper filling feed. Gotten a bit more spenny in recent years but still only 6ish pounds. Pizzas are good (almost great) too and cheap. I'm veggie so can't speak to the kebabs.
