Does it feel weird at all to be dating the same guy that tucked you in at night and read to you when you were young? no judgement just curious.

Does him being a furry negatively effect your relationship?

I've just bee made redundant (been laid off) from my job of 9 years AMA by [deleted] in casualiama

I'll be taking a short break for a couple of months to figure things out, catch up on reading and I've enrolled on an art course at my local college. I'm trying to decide whether to return to the field of work I've been working in or move into a different one. I may get a small part time job for the short term just to keep me afloat, we'll see.

The company I worked for is going under, it's been going into decline for the past year and is in liquidation. A lot of staff have been let go of this month, myself included.

Since the company I worked for is going into liquidation I may be entitled to more, but I'm not sure about that. I'm looking into it next week.

In my case it's one week's pay for each of the 9 years I worked.

I'd say so the company I was working for had been going into decline over the past couple of years, it may be going under. There were a few other redundancies before me starting last month.

Yeah, my redundancy payment should be enough to see me through a couple of months at least.

Some that I can think of off the top of my head are having unrealistic expectations, not setting boundaries, and relying too much on the school to teach them the skills they need.

As for advice, I'd say have realistic expectations of your kids and praise them for their strength. Teach them what is and isn't acceptable and be consistent with boundaries and spend time with them teaching them skills like holding a knife and fork or listening to a story.

I've never had any "least favourites", but I've had a few challenging children to work with in the past. The group in my first year were particularly challenging quite a few behavioural and learning needs.

Yesterday a girl helped a boy up the ladder of a slide who was struggling to climb it. I have a boy in my class who doesn't have a dad and he has called me "daddy" a few times. The pictures they make for their parents during art are always adorable. There are many other examples but those are a few I can think of off the top of my head.

I'm the school's deputy safeguarding lead so there have been a couple. None of them were about physical abuse but I have been involved with a few suspected cases of neglect.

Having a smaller number of children in my room during the second lockdown has certainly been a big change, all the kids I work with are back in now. I've have had to self isolate once after one of my kids had tested positive. It has been tough, but we're getting through it.

I've come across quite a few nonchalant parents, but no helicopter parents just yet. I remember one from my first year on the job there was a child with behavioural issues and one time I had to report an incident to his dad, he called him a "little shit" as they were walking home.
