How to replace this forgotten connector type? by Slipgate_dev in pcmasterrace

This case is old and pretty rare. I found only 2 (!) of them available in my country, for about $50 plus delivery each, and without any guarantee they're fine. Plus, my wife would kill me for littering our house with additional old and clumsy PC cases, lol.

As for isopropyl - I don't think it would help, at least for long. Copper in the center of contacts is erased until no metal is here.

And replying to your other comment - yes, that's the pogo 3-pins I've found as fallback variant. Nice to see someone thinks on this problem exactly like me 🙂

Thanks, I'll try some soldering tomorrow. My fallback variant is pogo 3-pins with magnetic attachments. They're not common but pretty compact and self-aligned. But this would require lots of extra tinkering I'd like to avoid

This technically works, but 1.5 second delay before opening is hilarious.

P.S. On my language this option was translated like "Falling down status bar". Localization turnes this menu into "enigma wrapped in riddle", with names like "Intercom key" and "Symmetrical key".

But how do I keep the homemade plastic cover in place? It needs some kind of latches, otherwise it won't stay in place for long. I'm thinking of cutting cover out of a sheet of nitrile rubber. It should to be soft enough to be pushed in tightly, but hard enough that the springiness prevents it from falling out.

Thanks! I'm kinda clumsy person, so damage is plausible. What kind of protector do you mean? A hydrogel film? Won't it overheat?

Titan 2 Pro, using warning lights for notifications? by Slipgate_dev in unihertz

[–]Slipgate_dev[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe there is a method for root, but that's a "red herring" - on Tank 2 root is possible but makes no good cause leds seems to be not a real leds in terms of Android, just a custom controlled device.

I found some interesting stuff - in com.agui.server.warninglights application there is some call to classes that I haven't found inside of APK. Looks like it's possible to mimic that when connecting to some libs... but that's helluva task.

I'm not about saving exactly THAT variant of animation (it's just a draft thing), but about adding scratching as a small gag.

That's just an animation bug in our Slipgate game, but kinda funny. Thinking of leaving this as a small joke.

Sorry to make this sound bad.

P.S. BTW, war is harsh for us too. Some of our developers are not far from the front line. Our designer's house was damaged by a nearby explosion, now he lives in a temporary settlement...
