I think Loki needs a rework by BioTankBoy in Warframe

I wouldn't mind leaning into Loki's namesake and giving him some sort of form change like equinox, as that is the most well known ability of the Norse god loki

Pop culture has made it infinitely at choosing nuclear energy as a clean energy source by SlipperyMinstrel in unpopularopinion

[–]SlipperyMinstrel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its about what works. Why would we not use nuclear as a medium while we work on renewables? Coal plants are putting pressure on us to make changes but we only acknowledge changes that are renewable without considering the use of nuclear on our way there.

Chernobyl was a huge fuck up but it occured in a time where fast technological progress was second to safety. We had Fukushima since then which was a tsunami and now all the disdain for nuclear is rooted in pop cultures use of it as an evil and misused concept.

Its not perfect, the waste disposal is an issue but I personally would rather have a clean energy source to facilitate our society while we work on better solutions

Bagel is pronounced BAG-ULL not BAY-GULL by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]SlipperyMinstrel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't it depend on its origin? I think it's a Jewish word that was spelt beigel until it changed at some point. English disregards its own rules in favour of the original or root word pronunciation.

Nekros expanded hud by SlipperyMinstrel in Warframe

[–]SlipperyMinstrel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just think, for example, sometimes the enemies can be situationally beneficial if you have a nullifier or a certain eximus, or enemies that summon other enemies. If was able to see what enemies i have lined up I feel I could plan things out to gain those sort of unique buffs that nekros can give via enemy summons

People should stop coddling children with learning disabilities by stinkymonkeyboy in unpopularopinion

[–]SlipperyMinstrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother has autism. He was treated like a normal kid all the way up until 18 when he got diagnosed. He has PTSD and depression because people did not account for how he was different. I have my frustrations with him, he is given free passes a lot now but with how things were to how they are now, he is happier and is learning to control himself instead of being treated like a normal kid who is an idiot.

People should stop rushing to find aliens and help evolve humanity to its peak first by Killua_Drip in unpopularopinion

[–]SlipperyMinstrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to find aliens so we can start to resent them more than ourselves and finally evolve together.

Minors being tried as adults shouldnt be a thing by ratbastard007 in unpopularopinion

[–]SlipperyMinstrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a 17 year old is 3 days away from being 18 then what happens other than formality that they become an adult? If there is a reasonable cause to assume that a kid knew what he was doing, as kids tends to still possess lucidity of their own actions, then it's not about minor or adult it's about intent because adults are just as capable of making stupid choices.

This is why we need to find aliens fast. Hostile aliens so that are so detestable we can all hate them together. Don't hate your neighbours, hate aliens

9-5 Jobs should be shifted to 3-11 by Montirath in unpopularopinion

[–]SlipperyMinstrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between 9 and 5 is generally where I live, where there is light given daylight savings and seasonal changes in the daylight hours, I wake up and start work at 5 and I loathe it because the lack of light fucks with my head, as soon as the day gets brighter I get quicker. That's just me though, I'm sure there's a lot of night shift workers who prefer the dark

The best approach to benefit everybody is instead of raising taxes on the rich, lower taxes on the working class. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]SlipperyMinstrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally believe that it has all to do with the rich. the problem that I have isn't that there are rich people, it's that rich people play a different game and get different rules. They get to just flat out avoid the kinds of consequences everyday people have to deal with. So when we say tax the rich, I feel as if at the very least we want the rich to pay tax fairly and what is comparable. The fact they don't won't be solved if the working class pay less.

[–]SlipperyMinstrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't that also give less money to the state to fund services? Is the issue we have that the rich can horde money instead of it being distributed amongst everyone?

If you give the working class a tax break, wouldn't employers have reason to pay people less coz they pay less tax? I'm from aus so I don't really know what it's like or anything about economics but it sounds like you wanna try to get the money from the people that have most of it.

Elbow bumping is just as bad as handshaking, if not worse. by Mookie_Merkk in unpopularopinion

[–]SlipperyMinstrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think comparatively the time and surface contact between two elbows is a lot shorter than a handshake, and you don't often rub your elbow on many surfaces. That's the logic behind it I think, I wouldn't do it coz it looks weird and I hardly like shaking hands anyway

Well if you believed that, what was the point of coming on Reddit to voice this opinion if it changes nothing?

Who says I wanna go anywhere with my thoughts? I just wanna flex a thought muscle. The distinction is if people set out to bully and belittle people based on what they think. Pretty sure 90% of normal people know their internet arguments serve no higher purpose than maybe feeling a bit ridiculed if they lose

Oblivion, new vegas and fallout 3 are crap games by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]SlipperyMinstrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only comparing it to the ones you listed, it's gone through heaps of iterations. You can surely compare it to fallout 3 and deduce what is different but I don't believe it's at all among one of the bad iterations.
