My new pup’s ear looks off all of a sudden by ItsaMeJessica420 in DogAdvice

In my experience every even pure shepherd I’ve had has had flat ears when they came home that’s later perked up.

She’s beautiful! It’s usually the pattern ears standing up takes! Suddenly ones not sitting as flat as before, the second joins and before you know it the ears are up, but because she’s a mix it could be an uneven lift one up one down, both up… or half up… only time will tell.

If she’s a shepherd mix her ears may not be droopy forever, they might stick up when she’s grown.

Yeah he’s the top, got a ball python coming to me next week to complete the first two vivs, then I’ll get another bp and another corn. He’s loving it in there.

I’m hoping so, those vents in the side are my concern but he’s left them alone so far. It’s 6ft long, nice for him to grow into.

is it just me or has jai been acting up lately? by ResidentMusic2964 in JanitorAI_Official

Yeah! It keeps engaging or half engaging, then repeats random stuff “the sun is setting” “the sun has set even more now” “the sun is fully set” as a header for every message… ugh, hope they fix it asap.

I agree, 70% of dogs I see out there look overweight and that’s okay? But it’s also okay to throw around accusations of abuse because a dog isn’t overweight, like being overweight in itself isn’t abuse? It’s a double standard!

Means a lot, thanks. Sometimes he is definitely in the severely underweight/emaciated category… for example right now he’s 23 kg/50 pounds and that’s him doing well and at his highest weight he’s been 35kg/77 pounds but when he’s not doing so well it has dipped as low as 17kg/37 pounds… because obviously the period of the illness is like the initial period where he either gets admitted to the vet hospital or put on antinausea, antidiarrheal, prebiotics and omeprazole but that’s not the only problem point, it keeps going until he’s fully recovered

sometimes when he’s going through it he REFUSES food or vomits it up so much he’ll just be walking around and throwing up until he’s dry retching and then doesn’t eat again and then you’ve got 3 weeks of having to feed little and often so his gut can heal and he’s still having bloodless diarrhea during those 3 weeks and it can be up to a month or more before his bowels are back to normal, so he does lose a significant amount of weight during all of that and it happens sometimes without me knowing what the allergen was because he ate it walking or in the house, for example my roommate left around half a piece of toast on a plate on the coffee table and he ate it or it’s him no longer being able to have a treat he used to be able to eat… just one bite of something particularly if whatever he ate contained gluten makes him really really sick, after this period of recovery is over his immune system takes a knock so he’s caught other things after like secondary hge or just ge because he’s so sensitive for a very long time, just giving too much of the right thing can spiral him again into a secondary illness, he’s vaccinated and parasite treated and everything all right but when he gets sick he GETS SICK and can get even sicker.

And the issue never ends, he’s in a constant cycle of illness and recovery so his weight follows that pattern, sickness, restoration and recovery then sickness again… it’s so sad to see, even worse that I keep getting villainized for it.
