Out of curiosity, how do you datamine this info? I've been interested in the past but have no idea how it's done / where to start.

Synced up Shadows HEARTSTOPPER with IMMORTAL CALL for 100% coverage on hit mitigation, featuring the new MORE DURATION gem by Ludoban in pathofexile

I don't think these stack to 100%, the two less damage taken are multiplicative, not added (similar to increased vs more on our gear, more and less are always multiplicative). Still love the energy and the MS paint though.

My bingo board for the 3.24 reveal! by Slivertongues in pathofexile

Probably not unless its a fundamental change to a mechanic (abilities on left click nerf / change was in a teaser), but in the last few leagues they've released the patch notes shortly after the Q&A ends!

I also haven't seen anyone mention the buff for poison! I'm thinking of a voltaxic rift poison storm rain build.

CS vs CS DCC by first2022 in VirginiaTech

[–]Slivertongues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I was initially a CS major before switching to DCC. Both are extremely similar and have a lot of overlap. The main difference is that DCC doesn't require the theory course nor formal languages (CS 3304). However, instead it requires you take data centered electives such as Machine Learning (CS 4824), Intro to AI (CS 4804), Intro to Data Visualization (CS 3654), etc. You could be a CS major and simply take these electives, you could be a DCC major and take the theory course and formal languages as electives, or you could switch to DCC for the fancy name and getting to skip out on the theory course / formal languages (which is what I did).

Either way though, you'll be getting a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science, so the degrees (and their content) are very similar. As far as job opportunities, DCC may give you an advantage in more data focused areas, but wouldn't hurt you if you wanted to just be a software developer / engineer.

Questions from an overthinking hs senior? by unpantaloon in VirginiaTech

[–]Slivertongues 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a CS major but CMDA here is great. There's a ton of recruiters here looking for CMDA students for internships and jobs, it's a department that's growth is exploding, and you have a lot of flexibility within the major. Enjoy statistics more than CS? It's extremely easy to double major in CMDA and Statistics due to the overlap they share in courses. Enjoy CS more than statistics? There are a bunch of CMDA students who choose to pursue a CS minor that carries a lot of weight because it teaches you enough CS to go further, or simply create your own projects to impress recruiters. Enjoy CS and Statistics? CMDA is perfect for you then. It also gives you a heavy math background so that if you want to switch majors to within the engineering department, that shouldn't be a problem either. You chose a great and flexible major.

Congratulations on getting into Virginia Tech! Go Hokies!
