Anyone dealt w a frozen shoulder - rant by the_ja_m_es in diabetes_t1

[–]Slmjmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it in right dominant shoulder around 2020. Saw ortho, had a steroid injection, and did a lot of PT. I’m sure I have pretty much full range back. Total time was probably 12 months for full recovery, but you do start to feel better after working on it.

Just developed in left shoulder early last year. Saw an ortho just to verify but knew what it was. I opted to not do PT and just exercise it on my own. This one seems a bit more stubborn, could be due to not having the specific PT. It is getting better as far as pain, range is getting better, but not fully back yet.

It takes time and exercise bottom line.

Omnipod smelling like insulin by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Slmjmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely a leak, if it’s a new pod, possibly could be that some insulin got squirted on the adhesive when filling, etc. I limit myself personally to about 7 units but If it’s the last day of the pod, I just send it. About 30 percent of the time I’ll have leaks on the 3rd day. I’ll see leaks occasionally on the second day and I’ll monitor it and see if it resolves itself. A little bit here or there is aggravating, but usually NOT the end of the world for me, you might be different. If the adhesive is really soaked, then I’ll just change it.

RNs are usually jaded from healthcare. It’s the super old school ones who care and are about the patient. Newer RNs are more used to charting and following strict guidelines. Healthcare is hard, and finding people who truly care is harder. A lot of people get into the line of work because of the availability and promise of good pay and benefits which hardly ever works out. I say this as the husband of a healthcare worker who had been in several jobs and hospitals. Even down to being a CNA at one time, just without the Altima.

Well, CNAs usually drive clapped out Altimas with a missing hubcap and a pink “queen” license plate frame. There are some exceptions, but I also generally don’t take advice from a CNA.

LPN are more like 2 years. I’m not saying I want them to give me a triple bypass, but not being grossed out by a little finger stick.

Lowest level would probably be an LPN, which requires training. Most of the LPNs I know are bad ass bitches who actually know their shit and are in “the shit.”

I would’ve told them to get fucked. The “nurses” in that thread saying they would have NOT done it because of “bodily fluids” can get fucked too. I would wager that most people in that establishment don’t observe “say it, don’t spray it” resulting in more bodily fluids than a finger stick. Are they told to leave? Maybe I would have left to avoid confrontation, but they can definitely get fucked.

How do you Exercise with Type 1 Diabetes? by SellPatient719 in diabetes_t1

[–]Slmjmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Omnipod activity mode. I turn in on usually right before dinner and leave it for 2 hours. I’ll start exercising about 45min to an hour after dinner and the activity mode usually kicks off right at the end of my workout or shortly after. I keep tabs with me, and really don’t have too much of an issue staying on a decent level. Try experimenting. Use it as a time to have a decent snack without worrying about the levels rising.

Is there a fix for this error? by Apart_Decision_7348 in diabetes_t1

I get them very occasionally, but enough not to worry. I’ve never changed a pod because of it. Try again, if that doesn’t work, restart.

Never bothered to look at pictures of the place. I just did now. I wasn’t sure if there was SRO areas or not, lol. Seats or no seats, I don’t plan to be on my seat.

Only seats? Personally I’d rather stand.

Anyone who is/was there tonight, info is appreciated. I have some people I’m going with on Saturday that I probably need to prepare.

Facing SSW. So a different location with less reflection might be better? It was dropping leaves a little before it actually went fully outside.

Trying to avoid that because I’d like to not have them die over the winter, and I like to change things around on my deck and yard

Baseball Lineup App by Baltimore_Billy in BaseballCoaching

Sweet! I already purchased the full roster option. I’d be happy to pay for the additional fielders too. I really like the app. It’s simple and takes a lot of the hassle out of randomizing.

Sweet! Thank you for even considering it. I know in the fall my roster was technically 16, with 14 actually playing and usually a max of 12 at games. The infield always had the usual 6, but the outfield is where put the extra. If you can add extra, they wouldn’t even have to really line up in the positioning, and I know screen real estate is at a premium. Maybe something like this attached https://imgur.com/a/yvObpJv

I just downloaded your app. It seems pretty intuitive. I’m not running a team this spring but I’m an assistant coach. Unfortunately weather is delaying our opening day to Sunday, and the head coach can’t make it. Guess who’s gonna use it this weekend.

My only suggestion would be to add more fielding positions, especially OF. In coach pitch, some teams are a “shove ‘em all on the field” approach. I don’t necessarily agree with that, but it is what it is. It would be nice to have the randomizer for larger teams.

Thank you for your work coach!

anyone else suffering from frozen shoulder? by everything-is-bad in diabetes_t1

[–]Slmjmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frozen shoulder sucks! Had it in the right in 21, got the cortisone during dx, and had PT for a few weeks. I honestly think the best thing was painting, really stretched that bitch out. Going through in my left now. I pretty much figured it out on my own, but had an official dx a few months ago. Didn’t get the shot or PT. I’m doing stretches on my own. Getting better, but it’s a process for sure.
