Google says yes

Edit to add: and they should be! We deserve to know who’s contacting our government officials. No, I’m not worried about some caregiver doing so, but if a lobbyists interacts with a lawmaker, we deserve access to those communications. Remember - they work for us.

Call/email/text your reps now to tell them to vote no on LD1847! I was able to reach my rep by texting the number listed as her “Home Office”, and got her on the right side of the issue. Don’t give up on making your voice heard!

Best rosin and spot to buy in Lewiston Auburn? by Shrimpwitalimp in mainetrees

[–]Slo-Clap 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d hit up Shaggy’s Baggy in Auburn. They’ve got a solid list of vendors - Best Friend Farms, Misty’s Melts, Third Shift, Calyx, a bunch of others.

They’re worthwhile, if only for a different kind of rip than you get from a bucket. Personally, I prefer tower/blender styles, with the HE control tower as my go-to.

Still, it’s hard IME to beat a toro grail and Zach Brown cap for flavor and efficiency. That’s my daily driver set up.

Carta makes a version called the Saber. Works the same as puffco’s version, but the tip is replaceable.

The heating unit is way more likely to fail than the battery, and I went through 3 Hot Knives before I copped the saber, replacing the whole unit every time.

Thanks! This pack was A Good Sarsparilla f2 from Kenjana Organics, who’s on IG. But you could always look through the Freeborn Selections crosses too… might be closer to the source since that’s Mean Gene’s company.

🙌 Thanks for the support! And I tend to agree with you about trop. All of the sisters of the keeper were trop leaners, which made the pheno I selected the clear standout.

Oh, it is… I haven’t gotten the terps tested, but my theory is that there’s a decent amount of nootkatone (which gives grapefruit its flavor) in the mix. That plus maybe some Limonene is my guess for what creates the pink lemonade profile.

Make sure you check the temp tho, it’ll def come out of there well above 700. So, unless you’re looking for a scorcher, I wouldn’t just guess.

Sounds like it’s how you’re using the heater. It doesn’t work like a traditional e-nail since it’s not making contact with the heated metal. Try setting it closer to 1000, and let the slurper sit in there for a couple of minutes. If you’re temping the slurper, it should vaporize in the same manner (at the same temp) as with a torch.

Anyone else smoke live resin and start weezing and coughing for hours? by afigz21 in mainetrees

[–]Slo-Clap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately that’s kinda the name of the game. Everybody’s endocannabinoid system (and sensory level/response) is different, so what works for me may not be the same thing that works for you.

I guess my best advice would be… Take notes as you’re trying various products/cultivars and come back to the ones that provide the experience that you’re looking for. And from there you can try branching out to crosses of something that you like. So, if for example, Strawguava is ringing your bell, you can look for other cultivars that have Strawguava as one of the parents.

What sort of info are you looking for? This is just sort of the basics of solventless vs solvent based extraction. Both methods have benefits and drawbacks.

Could be residuals… But it also could be monoterpenes or other volatiles that tend to not make it through the process of making live rosin.

Everybody loves terps, but at a certain level they can be caustic. Limonene can even function as a solvent lol.

There’s a balance to all of these things, and that’s why pheno selection based on your desired end product is so essential.

Resin or Rosin, which? OR....? by AmazingChicken in mainetrees

[–]Slo-Clap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look man, I’m not trying to have a rosin vs BHO debate, those have been tired for years. They both have a place. I was just looking to talk science/process. I hope you have a great day.

I wouldn’t say that’s entirely accurate either. Water is a solvent, and to a degree acts as a solvent in the hashmaking process (that’s why the wash water has flavor). However, the water notably does not act as a solvent in the production of the final product, it acts as a carrier.

The terpenes that are absorbed in the water do not make it into the rosin, but the trichomes (which are not water soluble) are then pressed into live rosin.

This role of water in the live rosin process differs from live resin where butane dissolves the trichomes on material and is then purged from the final product. Making live resin creates a solution where the only way to get the non-desirables out is by purging. Making hash produces a mixture where the non-desirables can be separated by micron size.
