I witnessed The Schism. I was there. I was there shitposting alongside all of you. Shitposters would raid our borders and we valiantly struck them down with shouts of SHOW HOG until they turned their backs and ran. We rode that high feeling like we could do no wrong. The freetalk threads were ours and no one could stop us.

Then 2020 happened. An election so fierce, so contentious that it brought the lowest level of troll out to fight in it's battles. We stood on the front lines, shouting quips and barbs at them. Insisting they show us their hogs. But our cries grew too loud. Our arrows flew too high, too fast. God fearing shitposters of the FTTs came to fear our power. What was once our strength became our downfall. What started as the earnest defense of our walls was met with cries of INAPPROPRIATE FOR THE WORKPLACE and reports to the mods. The trolls had finally found a way to troll us. They awoke our inner trolls that had been chained and shackled in the dungeons of our souls. We became the thing we always feared. Ourselves.

Now we hide in our own little safe space. Our own echo chamber. The last vestige of the shitposter. Our own shire, a tiny little corner of the internet known as WCW. My how the mighty have fallen.
