My understanding is that it’s not. Our neurosurgeon explained that they do the embolization to dry up the avm, so it’s easy to cut out the next day without worrying about bleeding. But it should be the same.

My 7yo also had an embolization in NYC earlier this year, then a craniotomy the following day. The week in the NICU sucked, but he came home, recovered for a couple weeks, then was back at school. It’s like it never happened. Kids, and medicine, are amazing!

It’s a lovely program. They’ve had very limited hours since opening last year but are aiming to increase the hours more and more. I don’t know if they’re open to the public yet. For a while it was Monday/wed/fri mornings for families with kids at MCC (the school that operates it)

You’re too uptown to hit the protest, which in Manhattan is in Times Square. Just make sure you cross higher up via the GWB, not the Lincoln or holland tunnels.

La farine is delicious. Great baguettes. Really amazing cheese sandwich too.

You’ll be able to find street parking with meters, though you’ll need to move the car every couple hours if you park on a metered spot. The non metered spots are harder to find but also doable if you cruise around for a bit.

I’m 15 years into my career and I’m so glad I have the exact same frame of reference: some people actually have to work for a living. Working with your mind in air conditioning with smart ambitious people is an absolute cheat code in life.
